Mission Guide

Missions are the lifeblood of shinobi. The village often creates missions for their own shinobi as "jobs" or tasks. Sometimes the village gets requests from others, whether from merchants, other nations or indigenous people of the land. Missions serve to accomplish more than just tasks for the village however. They also serve as a way for shinobi to mature and advance their own skills. Even more, missions serve as stability or instability across the shinobi world. Two types of missions exist. First, there is stability missions- the type of mission that either avoids conflict with other villages, or works together with other villages on a common goal. Second, there are instability missions. These missions directly work against other villages, decreasing stability between the villages. Each has their own benefit, but choose wisely! Your actions could lead to peace or war!
Do NOT copy/paste repeat missions. This is an exploitation and will be punishable.

Genin shinobi may participate in C Rank missions(2 Genin or 1 Genin & 1 Chuunin+).
Chuunin shinobi may participate in B Rank missions(
2 Chuunin or 1 Chuunin & 1 SPC Jounin+).

Special Jounin shinobi may participate in A Rank missions(2 SPC Jounin or 1 SPC Jounin & 1 Jounin+).
Jounin shinobi may participate in S Rank missions(1 Jounin+)(3+Jounin may participate in SS & X Rank).
Sannin shinobi may participate in SS-X missions(1 Sannin+).

X Rank- 3,200 exp, 8,000 RYO, 30 instability, 2,000 word count.

These missions and systems are designed specifically for solo types & grinding solo threads. While hard work and dedication are appreciated and rewarding- we would also like to encourage teamwork and RPing with each other. To that end, I have added another option for missions. These only apply when doing missions with other members, not NPCs.
2 Member missions: When two members do a mission together, they earn double mission rewards.(Exclusions include certain rewards like Limited items and KKGs)
3+ Member missions: When three or more members do a mission together, they earn triple mission rewards. They must write 2x the normal word count requirement per character however.(If a mission normally requires 400 word, it will require 800 words instead) That may seem like a lot, but it isn't! Especially when you consider you are only writing 2 missions worth of words for 3 missions!

To clarify the stability between villages, there are three stages to each village's reputation. Allies, Neutral & War.
Allies: When two villages share a healthy relationship, they are considered allies. This is when the reputation bar is between 201-300. Cooperative missions and events may be held- such as missions where one village requests assistance from another village. Or one village hosts the chuunin exams and the other village attends. During this time, shinobi between these villages may travel freely to the other village, given they had the proper rank to travel!
Neutral: When two villages' reputation starts to destabilize, they are considered neutral. This is when the reputation bar is between 101-200. Like the "Allies" reputation, villages may request missions and host chuunin exams... but shinobi from the other village are not permitted free entry into the village, nor territory. They must have official purpose or they risk being held prisoner.
War: When two villages' reputation are hostile, they are considered at war. This is when the reputation bar is between 0-100. When at war with another village, villages may not cooperate or do missions together, nor do they host chuunin exams for other villages. Nor are they allowed to travel to the other village. Being caught in or near the village's territory, may lead to combat where you are either captured or killed. All shinobi of villages are expected to uphold these laws. Failure to capture or defeat enemy shinobi may lead to punishment if it is learned that you allowed them to escape. Have no fear, for there is a way to reverse the harmful effects of war! If the two kage determine that the war is too costly, they may request a Kage Summit. Both Kage must attend and the other kage are optional but it is required to include them. Typically the location of the summit is secret and held in a neutral territory. Once the summit commences, the two Kage come to agreeable terms in whatever form they wish: whether is is returning of land for RYO, etc. Once the agreement has been established, the two villages may begin Stability missions and start rebuilding their reputation.

Bingo Book
Committing crimes against any village increases a shinobi's bingo count. This is done various ways, such as betraying your own village, or even something as simple as completing Instability Missions. Your Bingo count is located in your character update sheet and increases or decreases depending on which missions you do. Of course there are other ways to increase Bingo count, such as personally attacking another village or their shinobi(Especially during times of peace!) Beware, you'll be held accountable between allied villages if you damage the trust established. Capturing or killing Bingo targets may reward you & your village rewards from other villages(Assuming they have enough to pay you!)

Rank-up Guide

There are many ways to increase your shinobi level, but don't be mistaken. Shinobi level and Shinobi rank are two separate things. Level determines your overall stats, skill points for specializations & elements. Rank determines your responsibilities and privileges in the village. Just because you level up to Level 40, doesn't mean you go straight to Special Jounin. You are still a Genin unless you meet specific standards!

Genin Shinobi may become Chuunin one of three ways. However there is a minimum level requirement of LV16.

  1. They participate in the Chuunin exams.
  2. Their Kage personally promotes them.
  3. Staff promote them.

Chuunin shinobi may become Special Jounin one of several ways. However there is a minimum level requirement of LV31.

  1. Their Kage personally promotes them.
  2. Staff promote them.

Special Jounin shinobi may become Jounin one of several ways. However there is a minimum level requirement of LV46.

  1. Their Kage personally promotes them.
  2. Staff promote them.
  3. The member apprentices under ANBU.

Jounin shinobi may become Sannin one of several ways. However there is a minimum level requirement of LV61.

  1. Their Kage personally promotes them.
  2. Staff promote them.

Sannin shinobi may become Shonin one of several ways. However there is a minimum level requirement of LV76.

  1. Their Kage personally promotes them.
  2. Staff promote them.
  3. Complete 4 site-wide IC events

Shonin shinobi may become Rikunin one of several ways. However there is a minimum level requirement of LV91.

  1. Their Kage personally promotes them.
  2. Staff promote them.
  3. Complete 6 site-wide IC events.

Rikunin is the highest achievable rank. You are a legend in your own right.

  1. Their Kage personally promotes them.
  2. Staff promote them.
  3. Complete 8 site-wide IC events.

ANBU Shinobi are a special rank. They share all responsibilities and privileges equivalent to their shinobi level without necessary rank-ups. They remain ANBU until death or become Missing-nin. They are under direct command from the ANBU Commander. Steps to become ANBU are as follows. ANBU become eligible for special missions.

  1. Apprentice under ANBU at Special Jounin Rank.
  2. Attain level 50.
  3. Once LV 50, be invited by ANBU Commander after a mock battle with them.

ANBU Commander is also a special and unique rank. They share all the benefits that ANBU members do, however the Commander is directly in charge of all the ANBU. The Commander takes orders directly from the kage. The ANBU Commander is also in charge of protecting the Kage. Requirements are as followes.

  1. Previously have been a Jounin
  2. Promoted to ANBU Commander by kage.
  3. Attain LV 70.
  4. Impress the kage in a mock battle.

Kage is also a special and unique rank. Despite other titles' level and various requirements, a Kage is the highest achievable title. It is unique for each village, for there can only be one kage. The kage's role and responsibility is to protect and govern the village and its shinobi. A kage has complete control and authority over the village and its shinobi. Kage give missions, promote worthy shinobi to various ranks, decides how village RYO & Resources are to be spent for their village and their shinobi.

  1. Previously defeated prior kage or replace dead kage(Death enabled for Player characters)
  2. Attain Lv60
  3. Obtain staff approval through management sheet update.

Missing-Nin
Missing-Nin is a title given to a specific sort of shinobi. These shinobi have in some way, broken a law or betrayed their village. Whether it is from an action such as killing a fellow village shinobi, stealing a forbidden scroll, or something as simple as leaving the village without proper permission & not returning. Unlike the above ranks- Missing-nin is a title AND a rank. Being that they are no longer part of any village system, they are not bound by laws or limitations. A shinobi may leave their village at any level or any rank, but it is recommended that you wait till you have enough strength to defend yourself. Be warned however, that being a Missing-nin has as many disadvantages as they do advantages.
Advantage:

  1. Become a Missing-Nin at any level or rank.
  2. Not bound by village laws.
  3. Not bound by mission requirements.

Disadvantage:

  1. Missing-Nin are awarded a Bingo amount equal to their current rank(Increases as they grow stronger or perform missions).
  2. Missing-Nin cannot lower their own Bingo(Their Bingo only increases)
  3. Missing-nin cannot freely enter villages(They can enter villages through territories under siege by NPCs however).
  4. Missing-Nin who enter villages can be attacked by anyone wanting to collect their Bingo Bounty.
  5. Bingo Bounties are fairly common knowledge, due to being placed on a "wanted list" AKA the Bingo book.
  6. Missing-Nin users who make threads cannot make private threads(Anyone may enter their threads).
