Name: Pulling Weeds
Rank: D Rank
Location: Any village
Reward: 50exp, 100 RYO, 200 word count.
Description: An orphanage in your village has several garden plots and not enough help to keep the weeds from strangling their crops. You are to pull weeds from three garden beds

Tenri had accepted yet another menial mission that required her to pull weeds at a local orphanage, yet while she found the mission a bother the fact that it was for the benefit of orphans more than made up for any indignation she originally had. If Shinobi did not take their time out to help orphans then who would? It was their job after all to help those within their village and orphans while the youngest in the list had to take priority. Half the kids at the orphanage were likely children of Shinobi and Kunoichi who had died leaving their child parentless. A sad after thought to say the least.. Tenri counted herself lucky she was not born without parents or lost her parents, heck without even a family regardless of how messed up her Mother and Father were. She loved her clan and they loved her so in the end that was all that mattered.

The orphanage stood at a monstrous size, its perimeter fenced by an iron gate that stood far too tall for small children. Tenri couldn't decide if this was to keep bad people out or the children in, after all orphanages were subsidized monthly for each child they took in, most of which came from Johogakures treasury. Tenri would have been creeped out by the stature and appearance of the orphanage if it hadn't been for the dozen smiling tiny faces that awaited her at the gates, children of all ages and sizes eagerly awaiting their chance to meet someone new. Tenri had always had a soft spot for children, their innocence something that needed protecting and their contiguous joy worth spreading across the world. Tenri believed a child had the power to stop wars.

With an enthusiastic energy to her gait Tenri entered the gates of the orphanage after the attendees had ushered them out of the way, she had spent twenty minutes getting to know the children, especially one very ambitious and assertive boy named Hikari who had asked Tenri to adopt him right off the bat. The young blonde could not help but smile at how lively the place felt and while they were orphans, the aura of the people, the building and even the workers themselves gave off a very homely vibe.

Focused on the task at hand Tenri was led to the back of the main building to the numerous garden plots that had been set up so they could grow their own fruits and vegetables, there she was greeted by three children and four teenagers her looked as if they were Tenris age. All seven were dressed in gardening attire and sported an assortment of gardening tools they'd been using. Tenri had taken the time to greet them all (many of which had a thousand questions about being a shinobi) before she had asked them to teach her how to safely remove weeds from the garden bed without disturbing the crop. With a sense of pride in themselves for having taught a shinobi to garden Tenri would leave the children to their own work to get started on her own, she had three plots to complete and they weren't going to finish themselves.

Tenri had spent the next few hours humming and singing along with the others kids as they each went about their work, many of whom had giggled when the young blonde made a fool of herself falling into a patch of mud. Pulling weeds would have been a serious problem and she would have done more damage than help if she had not been taught how to safely remove them from the garden crops. While she wasn't as fast as the others what she lacked in speed she made up for in effort. Midway through the day workers from the orphanage had brought out sandwiches and water for everyone and allowed for Tenri to join them while they had lunch. The food was no five star meal but after the day she'd had Tenri felt like she had earned it and her hunger made no complaints at the quality of the food. If anything the fact she had earned it through hard work and sweat made it taste all the better.

Having found a rhythm Tenri had finally caught up with the others and what seemed like no time at all the Terumi had filled her quota. Most of the day had already gone and before she knew it, it was already 3pm. With her mission complete and after saying her farewells and promising to visit again Tenri left feeling a sense of pride for her days accomplishments.
