Hikari Usagi 480x250-Script

Name: Hikari Usagi
Age: S.I.X.T.E.E.N.
Gender: M.A.L.E.
Bingo Name: A Usagi Sun (Formal) || Violet Rabbit (Bingo) || Ultraviolet (Informal)

Appearance:

[Physical appearance]

To describe Hikari, he generally has a sweet and kindly appearance. However, this was upon some other time ago when he was a normal child. Because of the experiments of the Black Rabbit, he and some of his clan members have an appearance that is something far from what it once was. His eyes are pools of black with blue irises and his skin is a pale white. Although it seems docile and gentle, this flesh is actually quite tough. On top of this, he has hands and feet that have nails that reach an inch beyond the flesh due to his transformed state. His feet are curved, bent in a large form to be more representative of a rabbit. Not only that, but there is also his legs that seemed to be enlarged and toned with muscle because of this body’s twisted state. Finally, there is also the features of his head as he actually has long rabbit ears to reach past violet hair that mixes in with strands of white that are in his bangs and sweeping to his shoulders.

[Normal Clothing]

As for his clothing, it varies. Hikari usually wears default clothing of traditional Usagi robes. True to their nature, the Usagi have pure white clothing that is printed with their insignia of a rabbit’s paw print. If not white, they usually wear other exotic Ofurisode robes. This is usually referred to as their “Work Wear” due to them ending to clients. Their training and fighting garb usually consist of their customized sandals that represent stilettos due to the lifted wooden heel and metal plating that they were (Regaria) along with their one piece outfits of black or navy blue. This clothing is particularly tight and usually worn standard beneath the Usagi Clan’s clothing as they train or engage enemies in this outfit. It is less restricting to their fighting style.

Height: 5 feet | 2 Inches
Weight: 112 lbs

Village Affiliation: Shikigakure
Rank: Genin
Level: 1
Clan: Usagi

Personality:

If you could define Hikari, he is nothing short of eccentric. Even though he has had a chaotic life caused by politics and discrimination, he seems to bury it under a façade of passiveness and false jovial optimism. Hikari attempts to take day-by-day with no serious thought behind choice, but rather resorts to traditions and expectations pressed on by others. In doing so, he is a bit deceitful when it comes to his true personality as he marks himself as a “performer” due to one half of his family, and the other rightfully pressing “honor” as a serious means. His militia relative background battles with his carefree personality everyday making him fluctuate between making a solid choice.

As an individual, Hikari can be thought of as simply a “figure.” He acts with a faux charm that comes from his mother’s family, his clan, which mostly has a history with being absolved of duty and simply living life. In doing so, the violet haired boy finds himself participating in the Usagi traditions and activities without hesitation or even feeling forced to do so. He parties, entertains in the clans promiscuous dances and presentations, and not to mention learns the nightlife that he partakes in on the basis while attending his family’s gatherings. Hikari does this happily, not caring much for how his family looks at him, but yet he denies an important part of this: he does not agree with everything his family does.

This is where Hikari’s patriotic side comes in. With his father’s lineage as a shinobi coming into play, he feels some authentic obligation to help others. Even if the Usagi Clan’s traditions consists of being distant from politics and a country’s strife relative to war, Hikari shows concerns for others beyond the clan. Hikari cannot simply stand to see people suffering, and is more than likely to try to go out his way to help if it can be as discrete as possible. This is where Hikari feels dissonance as partaking in this behavior often causes a disagreement with what he wants to be when his clan presses him to “pick a side.”

When it comes to his personal life, Hikari does not seem to be too close to anyone in particular. He holds true to some of his clan’s perspectives such as “Men cannot be trusted” and “a woman’s charm is her greatest weapon.” He sees his clan’s sexualized basis from a traditional perspective due to his clan, but when it comes to seeing citizens, his sense of “honor” comes into play as he tries to see everyone equally. This, once again, causes a dissonance, one that often drifts to his father’s background due to him partaking in his clan’s perspective all his life, but as of late, he drifts to his father’s side as he seemed to crave to know more about the true nature of “men and women” alike.

History:

One of the very first, “Suns” of the Usagi…

With the barbaric practice of males being given to fathers and the local villages ended, The Usagi Clan was seeing a dramatic change in its structure. The rabbit wives and females who were under the burden of the system to prioritize survival were trying to endure the frustration they felt from changing from tradition. Since tradition and structure was so important to the clan, then it would cause a great dissonance for many that wanted to keep what they knew throughout the years; including some of the matriarchs. Change was hard!

Well...for most.

Akari Usagi was a woman who welcomed change! Someone who was meek and fragile, she usually was one to be very reserved with her opinions, but was very willing to go her own way when it did not warrant any belittlement from others. One of the most withdrawn of Usagi, she had always made a preference for what made her happy, and incorporating her own talents into what she had done. This made her excel at things in a way that others may not had thought about. Usagi-style martial arts were simple for her due to her preference for dancing, her air-headed nature made it so that she was thinking out of the box to think as an elite, strategic leader, and not to mention her preference for a mate? This was probably the last straw…

To be specific, Hikaru Suzume was the last straw.

A part of a prestigious clan based on sound-based users, Hikaru Suzume was a man with above average talent who was a Samurai. One of the classes of fighters within the three lands, abstaining from war and violence was his motif. Hikaru desired order and peace, and so he remained within Shikigaure as a man who dedicated himself to medicine and defending those against many who would wage war against the village or cause crime. He had the reputation of being the “Songbird Samurai” due to his sound-based abilities and the way he would combine it with Kenjutsu within battle. Although strong, he was a pain to the Usagi Clan who did not like the thought of associating with shinobi or samurai who used sound-based attacks to warrant their attention by manipulating their hearing ability.

Akari on the other hand, was taken by him!

The man’s whistling, true to his clan’s nature, was a song to Akari as her dances were a lovely serenade for him. In time, they had often been called to investigate some happenings in the village and within the Dark Forest, the Usagi Clan’s territory. Over those months of working together, as Akari was the only one who could stand him and vouge for him as he was a soft-spoken and nervous man with little confidence (something the Usagi also hated since they preferred masculinity and strength), she would be there for him all their days as a team...and until after where they would become more.

Thus, Akari would bare a child for Hikaru and affectionately name him: Hikari.

Of course, this did not mean the Usagi were completely receptive of one of the first “Suns” of the Usagi. As they were still at grips with this new system and the born child, they would become upset with Akari in a passive aggressive manner. Wet Nurses, Elite Warriors, and even children who were pressed by their parents to believe a Usagi Sun was a blasphemy would reflect their parents’ scorn. Even with Akari knowing this would happen, and Hikaru, they both desired to not have Hikari be raised without the love of a mother. In a time of war, they both agreed that Akari’s affections was better for him than being near a Samurai who was called to arms more often than a pacifist clan.

Hikari would grow amongst it all: scorn and distaste.

As he would come of a young age, that being of a young three-year old, he would start to discover things about himself; as would the clan. For instance, Hikari was obviously blind due to his lack of vision and the way he would cling to a mother. He would sense and hear the troubling heartbeats of those that had a hate for him and whom he was: a stain to the clan and one who represented change. This consistent disharmony and concern caused Hikari to become a crying child initially, and due to his father’s hidden ability, he had become an annoyance: with bursts of sound. Hikari had unknowingly become so upset that he would make loud screeches and cries that were altered in bursts with his dormant chakra. As a result, it would grasp the attention and even subdue the Usagi Clan members around him due to the powerful screeches. His grandmother, Akemi, and the head of the clan would speak to her daughter Akari with a sweet but vile attitude insisting:

“Darling, hush your son now or I shall hush him in his sleep.”
~Akemi Usagi [When Hikari was 3]

Because of this, Hikari could hear the troubled and tempered heart beats of his clan members, including his own grandmother who desired to smother them (though he was not aware). He was selective about who he would cling to, and would often go between his mother, his lecherous Auntie Umi, and his other bitter auntie Yami. The trio of sisters would look after him with their own “intentions” of what a Usagi Sun would be: Sweet and kind? Charming and and Controlling? Manipulative and Strict? All these ideas manifested in some way...and more.

Hikari grew with these ideas pressed into him, eventually becoming a very obedient clan member, always reaching for acceptance when it was not likely possible. The only thing that grew within him that was unexpected was a deep-seated distaste for his father whom he desired to know more intimately. However, due to his father’s concerns about Hikari knowing more of a Samurai, he feared his son would want to garner the ideas of a fighting Samurai rather than being a pacifist of a man who wanted peace. Hikaru believed that this would further burden Akari whose clan was more leaning towards the pacifist ideas, and so he would refuse Hikari to be around him, far into the age of when he was ten.

This was unacceptable for Hikari who wanted to know more of his father!

The scorn within him would become transformed as Hikaru and Akari were not aware of the Usagi Clan’s everlasting past distaste for men and having masculine males within their ranks. The current generation had become unkind to expect anything from men due to their change, and so Hikari had very much absorbed this belief and thought of himself superior to masculine strength and ideas that he believed his clan rejected. In truth, Hikari was rejecting his father who refused him, and in truth wanted nothing more than to be accepted by the man. So, Hikari would do something else that was taboo of the Usagi Clan, further upsetting them: he would enroll into Shikigakure as a shinobi.

Usagi Clan members and their traditions when it came to militia was strict: This happened when males lived with their fathers after they were given away. However, with the change in their structure, this was a new concept that the clan could not fathom: a Usagi Clan male who held onto the clan’s values wanting become shinobi was downright alien. To that extent, Hikari was looked at as more of a thorn than before, but alas, when it seemed himself and Akari would become the fated black sheep and be removed from the clan, the issue attracted a clan member who Hikari least expected to aid him: his grandmother, Akemi.

Akemi Usagi, an eccentric woman, was known to dole over her daughters and spoil them, but yet, she always had a motive. Unbeknownst to Hikari (but to her daughter, Akari, who knew her well), Akemi manipulated the situation to point out that there was merit to Hikari being a shinobi: this meant that he could be the perfect clan member to act as liaison for the clan to the village, and also a foothold to being a perfect little perk to someday being a noble clan within the houses of Shikigakure if he held true to the clan’s values while also being a strong asset to the village.

Thus, it was apparent: Akemi wanted to “advertise” and sell the Usagi Clan’s image to Shikigakure through the Usagi Suns.

As Hikari would spend time within the village, learning of their ideas, meeting new individuals, and even growing to become a shinobi (despite his ailment), he would graduate the Academy and ready himself for the difficult world of being a shinobi as well as a child who has broken tradition. Thus, he attempts to freshly thrust himself into the world of being a ninja with the expectation to do his clan proud and fulfill Akemi Usagi’s wishes for making the clan a noble house through his achievements.
