History: The Terumi are a Clan plagued with a history of battle and bloodshed that dates back to before the founding of the Hidden Villages.

The Terumi Clan was Founded and lead by a man named Ryuichi Terumi, the first born of five sons. The five brothers became the pillars of the Clans foundations and many of their teachings and traditions are still celebrated and honored to this day. With Ryuichi at the head and his four brothers acting as his generals it wasn't long before the clan had amassed a considerable population. Many of those who followed Ryuichi shared his passion and thirst for battle and he and his band of warriors traveled across the continent in search of feats of combat.

In their early days during times of War the Terumi were no more than mercenaries ready to wage war for whoever paid the highest sum, thus they held no true alliance to any one clan or nation. Fueled by passion and a lust for battle the Terumi became a renowned name on the battlefields throughout history for their ability to turn the tide of battle using their infamous Kekkei Genkai known as Yoton - Lava Release. The Terumi were regarded as fierce warriors whos battle prowess, war tactics and use of their Lava Release allowed the clan to hold their own against their enemies and eventually earned them the Moniker of the Lavamancers; they who bleed Lava.

While Ryuichi held sway over the majority of the Clan there were those within who did not share his same beliefs and eventually internal conflicts would erupt from within. Izu Terumi, the youngest of Ryuichis siblings believed the clan was meant for greater things and under Ryuichis leadership they were headed toward extinction. In the years that followed a Civil War broke out within the clans ranks which lead to a significant loss of lives on both sides.

Prior to Johogakures founding Ryuichi was eventually killed and the Terumi Clans internal conflict finally ceased. Before his death Ryuichi had covertly signed an agreement with the Uchiha that they the Terumi Clan would sign an alliance with the Uchiha in hopes of one day creating a united nation. After the death of his brother Izu was named the next Clan Head and strove to ensure the survival and security of the Terumi Clan.

In present times the Terumi Clan holds considerable sway and finances within Johogakure, thanks in part to their Manufacturing Industries that put their Kekkei Genkai to use.

Extra Info: Before their Founding the Terumi Clan were no more than simple wanderers with the belief that no man (or woman) was fit to lead without first having passed the 3 Trials of Amaterasu (The Sun Goddess). The Final and hardest trial demanded the participant to live and survive inside the crater of an active volcano for 30 Moons. This final trial was not only used to test the willpower of the next clanhead but to train and build their resistance to the very element they are capable of creating.

An old and now outdated Clan Tradition, those who sought the right to Lead were required to pass each trial without fail, often leading to death. In present times this tradition is now celebrated as one of the Terumi Clans many yearly festivals as a means to honor those who lived and died trying to pass the trials of the Sun Goddess.

Ryuichi Terumi | Clans Founder
Within the Clans History Books Ryuichi was depicted as a man of great honor with a thirst for battle. His feats during times of war became the Terumi's stepping stone to being considered one of the leading Clans of Johogakure. Thanks to his completion of the Trials of Amaterasu, Ryuichi was considered one of the strongest Clan Leaders the Terumi had ever produced and with his historical feats upon the battlefield and having earned the respect and friendship of the great Nerumu Uchiha, Ryuichi has remained a key part of the Terumi history.

Izu Terumi | Previous Clan Head/Founder
Known as The Usurper, Izu Terumi is depicted as a man of great influence and intellect who sought the survival of the Terumi. Forever in the shadows cast by his four older siblings Izu overthrew the eldest of his Brothers, Ryuichi in order to secure his seat as Head of the Clan. After a successful coup Izu went on to cement the Terumi Clans place within Johogakures borders and a seat at the table alongside its other founding Clans. It is no secret Izu has a distaste for Johogakures founding clan The Uchiha.

Izu / Asama / Fuji | Clan Elders
Consisted of the Clans oldest and wisest members as well as its previous Clan Head, the Clan Elders are often included in the day to day decisions made for the clan.

Ōshima Terumi | Current Clan Head
Following in the footsteps of his Father Izu Terumi, Ōshima stands as the current Head of the Clan and has made a name for himself as one who has a mind for business rather than battle. An aspect many of the Terumi are displeased with, regardless of how stocked the coffers are.

Appearance: Members of the the Terumi Clan generally possess hair colors of the autumn season such as a mixture of browns, blacks and even reds. Majority also appear naturally tanned as if the sun itself were blessing them with its touch.

KKG/Ability: The Terumi KKG is an advanced nature transformation Kekkai Genkai that focuses on the Ninjutsu specialization. (溶遁; 熔遁, Yōton, English TV: "Corrosion Style" or "Lava Style") is a nature transformation kekkei genkai, a combination of fire and earth. Whereas most kekkei genkai are largely identical between users, Lava Release has a variety of forms depending on the user's needs and tactics. The actual difference in the variations of the KKG are as follows:

2. Acid/Quicklime
   
3. Rubber
   
4. Volcanic Ash
   

Members of the Terumi clan may start out with one of these four and unlock an additional one once per skill up. (Such as going from D Skill to C Skill, etc) Although the release is quite powerful, it's real strength comes fom the sheer vastness of its techniques, being both powerful and large in quantity by nature.
