Mission 1:

"Kumori-Chan, can you hear me?"

A screech came over the comm that Kumori had in her ear giving her a sharp feeling of pain. "Owie," she said in response. "That really hurt Kumori, Fuu."

"Did you turn the communication volume down?"

Kumori took a pause as she thought. Did she turn it down? The last thing she remembered today was going out and immediately dashing towards her favorite ice cream store. They had served strawberry mint for their special and she absolutely had to have some. Once Fuujin gave her daily allowance to her, she bought as much ice cream as she could carry.

"Nevermind that for now," Fuujin commented.

Covered in her smokey grey cloak, Kumori sat with a wide smile across her face atop a building. The clay texture of the roof provided an excellent cushion for her bottom while she dangled her legs over the edge and kicked the air idly. In her fingers was one of the ice creams she had bought. She dug her lips all inside the creamy filling, which resulted in a sticky mess. Her cloak had a bit of red minty stains on it now, and her cheeks practically dripped with ice-cold cream. Fuujin would be angry with her when she got home for the mess she had made, but for now, Kumori was so happy that she didn't care.

"I just got a new mission for you from the kage. Head to the market district. A few dogs are attacking civilians. I want you to deal with them."

Suddenly, Kumori became giddy, and her eyes started to sparkle like bright illuminating stars. "Yay, doggies! Can I bring one of them home?"

"No," Kumori heard Fuujin say. She quickly lost that glimmering smile. "These are bad dogs. They are to be punished. Make sure they don't hurt the humans."

"Okay..." Kumori said in almost a whimper. She sniffled lowly, a saddened tear slowly falling down her cheek and washing away a bit of the cream that rested there. Fuujin could hear her silent wails over the comm.

"Kumori, if you do this, I'll make your favorite meal tonight."

"Really?" The giddiness returned. Elation passed through her like a bullet train as she started bouncing up and down like a yo-yo on a string.

"Yes, really." A soft chuckled came from Fuujin. "But, you must defeat the dogs before they harm someone, okay?"

"Okay!" Kumori was a rush of energy. She hopped herself up and away from the edge of the building, then commenced jumping from roof to roof until she came upon the market center. Loud screams were already beaming from the civilians there. Barks drowned out everyone, though, as the canines from hell raced through every aisle in the market and snapped their jaws at anyone who came close to them. These beasts were causing complete mayhem.

"Not good, not good," Kumori told herself. "Civilians can't die. Civilians can't die." She hopped from the high point she stood on to place herself in the middle of the chaos. There was a glare that extended from her eyes when she saw the first canine. Coincidentally, the canine had noticed her too and made a start after her. It kicked its paws into the ground and bolted after the little girl. A breath escaped all of the onlookers who saw this interaction. To them, Kumori was just a child facing off against a wild mutt. They didn't see that she had a chance, they didn't think she would survive. However, as the dog reared closer to her, a sharp glimmer of metal streaked from her cloak, leaving behind a trail of silver as a kunai slid its way through the body of the dog. The canine gave its final whimper before it collapsed on the ground and died.

"Tehehee," Kumori giggled. "There there," she said kindly. She leaned down and gently patted the dead creature's fur. "It's okay," she whispered gently. "There you go, that's a good doggy. Be silent."

A shriek from someone else from a far distance caught Kumori's attention, and she remembered her mission. "I gotta go, okay doggy? Be a good boy and don't cause any more trouble." She stood up to her full height and broke off into a sprint.
