Fighting The Bandit Horde [CONQUEST]

B-rank Bandits [CONQUEST]:

Kuro had received a new mission. It would be his first major mission that he would be taking on his lonesome. His first B-ranked mission and first mission outside of the village. He had to admit, he looked forward to it, getting to see the countryside that he had only ever heard about through words. He had gathered all of his equipment, though he left some at home. He was only carrying a single bag of dust to use and only two pellets. He didn't suspect he would be needing much more than that for this mission. What was the mission you ask? Simple, he had to go to a village by the coast and quell an uprising of bandits and other ruffians who had taken an opportunity of laxness in security provided by Shikigakure to rise up and take over the town. They were plundering and pilfering, murdering, raping, it was a really bad time to be in this village. So, he was to go and put them down by whatever means he deemed necessary. Once he had his bags packed, he headed for the gate. It would be a relatively long trek to the coastal village where his mission was to be taking place.

He arrived in the village roughly an hour after he started his journey there. When he arrived, he found himself standing in front of a rather drab looking town. The town had obviously been under siege for quite a while and he was amazed that the village hadn't done anything to help them since the beginning of this onslaught. He supposed it didn't matter at the moment as they had sent him to take care of these ruffians. He intended to burn them to a crisp, killing every last one of them. From the things they had told him based on his mission report, the thugs had been doing evil things here, things that he wouldn't allow to continue past today. He decided that his best course of action would be to enter the village and do a quick canvas of the area before actually going in to fight. He supposed that someone with his unique ability shouldn't really care about rushing into a fight, but he decided that it might be best to keep his ability on the downlow. Either way, he closed in on the village and leapt atop a roof to begin his reconnaissance.


He first saw that there were several thugs running amok in the town breaking windows and being general menaces, while there were a few looting and terrorizing some local market stalls and finally there were a group of them in their town hall. He decided to take the ones running the streets first, it would be the most simple. Then he would move to the stores and finally hit the town hall. He dropped down in front of the street full of thugs and waited for them to rush towards him. When they did, it was over before they knew what hit them. A black cloud followed by a fiery explosion that reduced them all to melting skin and smoldering bones. He then moved to the shop that was being held captive by the bandits, he could see that the shop owners had long abandoned the place, so it would be the best for his next plan. He started by throwing a smoke pellet into the room which exploded into a cloud of fine black dust. The men were inhaling it and coughing harshly, drawing more in with each breath. Then, he snapped. They were all burned from outside in and from inside out.


When he finished that, he made his way to town hall. Rushing in, he did not expect to catch a fist to his face and then a knife in his chest. He looked around, shock evident on his face. It hurt, sure, but he had long since learned to ignore pain. He closed his eyes as death took him into her sweet embrace. After a few seconds, he opened them again, sitting up and stabbing a man with the same kunai that had been in his chest a moment earlier. The other men in the room seemed shocked and weren't expecting the flurry of movement that was Kuro bolting around the room granting death to all the men save their leader. The man looked like he was going to fight, but looked like he could run also. Kuro decided to remove both options by planting a kunai in each of the mans knees. He fell to the ground, on said knees, but he held strong. He looked defiantly into Kuro's eyes and said, "I'm not afraid of you. I'm not afraid to die." Kuro simply chuckled to himself, "How do you know? You've never tried it before." Blood splattered on the ground as the mans throat was slit.


When he returned to Shikigakure, Kuro was happy to report that the town under siege had been liberated. All bandits were deceased and the town was on its road to recovery.
