Taking Care of the Bandit Infestation [Kioshi | Mugetsu] | B-Rank Mission Empty Taking Care of the Bandit Infestation [Kioshi | Mugetsu] | B-Rank Mission

Post by Kioshi Mon Aug 05, 2019 1:33 pm

This was his first mission with a shinobi from another village. Shikigakure held a neutral status, allowing Shikigakure shinobi to pair-up with other village shinobi and complete missions. He had no information about the shinobi from the other village. All Kioshi knew was that somebody would be joining him. He trusted the mission details.

However, the major concern was the kind of mission he had been assigned to. This was the highest ranking mission he had attempted thus far. It was B-rank mission. And Kioshi, and his companion, would be up against a large camp of bandits. Bandits who also happened to have some knowledge of jutsu. Caution was advised.

Kioshi hoped that his colleague had more experience with this kind of mission. The only battle he had been in before was with a few thugs. Even in that mission, his senpai had done most of the work.

To be fair though, this time he had a bigger arsenal of jutsu, which was comforting to say the least.

Nevertheless, Kioshi packed his bags, prepared, and was off to the location that was marked on a map he had been provided with along with the mission scroll. This position was on the outskirts of the bandit camp. He was hoping that he and his companion could stake out the place first. Do some recon and search for their targets.

He was the type to plan first. Take his time with his targets. He had learned that from nature. A snake took it’s time before it struck with lightening fast speed. The same was true for a lion when it hunted. So Kioshi deducted, that if he followed the same example, his chances of success would be higher.

It took Kioshi almost half a day to get to that location. By the time he got there, the sun was at it’s peak. Shadows were scarce and hiding was a challenge. But he still found a place.

The camp was hidden in an opening hidden amongst hills. The location that was marked in the mission scroll was close to a cave. So for now, Kioshi decided that he would hide in the cave. He would also spend the time to look for vantage points and ways to scout the encampment until the shinobi from the other village arrived.

Being a barrier ninjutsu user, Kioshi also hoped that his comrade in arms was more of the aggressive fighting type. His kind of style wasn’t suited for direct attacks. So he hoped that the other shinobi’s skill set had that part covered. Only time would tell. For now, he hid in the cave, and patiently waited.

Taking Care of the Bandit Infestation [Kioshi | Mugetsu] | B-Rank Mission Empty Re: Taking Care of the Bandit Infestation [Kioshi | Mugetsu] | B-Rank Mission

Post by Mugetsu Mon Aug 05, 2019 2:17 pm

Mugetsu had been on a plethora of B rank missions before but never with a partner who was on the same rank as him. Nor had he ever taken point in the man role of the mission. He always played a supportive role in the mission because he felt like his power was in sufficient. But this particular mission was right up his alley, It was simply and assassination of bandit leaders. Mugetsu knew that the entire camp was a bandit camp but such things did not matter. All he needed to do was take down the leaders of the camp and get out before he was discovered. Such things was child's play for the assassin in training. Having someone to work with made the job even better. Although both of the were C-Rank ninja the were all that was needed to take down the leaders of this camp. While the mission thing that was the main thing that was on his mind, it was not the only thing. This had been his first time visiting another village and participating on a mission with a ninja of Shikigakure. He was interested to find out how he compared to the ninja from a different village.

This mission would allow him to experience several things that he had not before. With that Mugetsu would gain knowledge and continue to grow... He would finally arrive at the meeting location that him and his temporary partner had agreed on. After a bit of searching he would discover him hiding within a cave. However, he was unsure if the Shikigakure ninja could even see himself. Mugetsu as always had dressed in a deep black, skin tight clothing fit for assassin work. If he had not had long blonde hair he would seemingly disappear into all forms of darkness. "Sorry to keep you waiting. I am Mugetsu Noblord the person who shall assist you during this mission. My talents lie in stealth and assassin work. With simple support I will easily be able to slip into the camp, take down the target, and return to this location before getting seen." Mugetsu words were somewhat cold and clear but not because he looked down on his partner but because that's who he himself was. The red eyed ninja knew he could do everything he said and there was no need to say more. He only would only wait for his partners response before he would began the mission.

Taking Care of the Bandit Infestation [Kioshi | Mugetsu] | B-Rank Mission Empty Re: Taking Care of the Bandit Infestation [Kioshi | Mugetsu] | B-Rank Mission

Kioshi slightly bowed to welcome his comrade in arms. With the bow, he returned the greeting:

”I am Kioshi. I’ll provide the simple support. To help you sneak in, I’ll create a diversion”

After looking around the camp, Kioshi knew where exactly to enter from and where he could create the diversion. This was what he was suited for in this situation. If he tagged along Mugetsu, he would only be in his way. Because unlike Mugetsu, who confidently stated that assassination was his skill, Kioshi couldn’t say that about himself. His justsu weren’t meant to incapacitate anyone, let alone take someone’s life. He could catch people’s attention though, and then escape when need be. He also had a jutsu that could help Mugetsu escape with him, if need be.

”Assuming the bandit leader’s camp is in the center. I suggest to enter from the North-East of the camp. To lure everyone away, I’ll create a diversion in the South-West section of the camp”

He suggested the plan of action. A few minutes ago, he didn’t have an idea. But since Mugetsu said that he could take care of the assassination part, Kioshi was now confident that this was the best way to approach the situation. Of course, that relied completely on Mugetsu’s ability to execute.

Nevertheless, assuming that Mugetsu agreed with Kioshi’s plan, Kioshi, the shinobi dressed in his usual casual-like genin uniform, would begin to proceed with the plan. He would head to the South-West section of the bandit camp. And then, he would wait for an estimated amount of time. The amount of time that should take Mugetsu to reach the North end of the camp.

And then, to catch everyone’s attention, Kioshi would proceed with the plan with one loud jutsu.

He had to be tricky with his arsenal. So he decided to use one of his jutsus in a different way than its intended purpose. He made the handsigns and used a C-rank Barrier ninjutsu: Bird cage. As a result, a rectangular barrier formed. Though usually, this was good to trap someone, but Kioshi only did it to create the physical barrier. And then, he kicked the barrier and controlled it’s trajectory using the jutsu, using it as a projectile.

The sudden appearance of a room-like structure startled the patrols, and it caught them by surprise. As a result, a resounding sound of something impacting the camp wall and breaking through it echoed around the entire bandit camp. This would be the signal for Mugetsu to enter.

As for Kioshi, it was his time to run around and dance around until Mugetsu got the job done.

Taking Care of the Bandit Infestation [Kioshi | Mugetsu] | B-Rank Mission Empty Re: Taking Care of the Bandit Infestation [Kioshi | Mugetsu] | B-Rank Mission

Post by Mugetsu Tue Aug 06, 2019 2:14 pm

Although Mugetsu would be able to see most of Kioshi combat skills that did not bother him. It appeared that his partner was well versed in the the use of tactical skills. Such a thing was exactly what Mugetsu needed to get this mission done. Kioshi had already determined the spot in which he needed to be as well as the best possible location for Mugetsu to be as well. Simply nodding to Kioshi plan Mugetsu would take off moments after Kioshi would leave as well. They both had their jobs and needed to completely then cleanly to avoid a disaster. But of course he was confident in his own skills as an assassin, in fact he knew that this would be child's play with the help of Kioshi distraction. Just as Mugetsu heard the commotion from Kioshi's distraction he knew that it was his time to strike.

As suggested, Mugetsu would slip into the camp undetected using the cover of darkness from the North-East side of the camp. The security in this location had almost been non existent in this side of. As expected most of the bandits attention was drawn towards the loud diversion. The few people that were left behind were grunts easily knocked out by Mugetsu. The goal of the mission was not to kill everyone he passed, only the leaders and therefore the back bone of the bandits. It did not take long for him to find the center of the camp. Within it was a massive tent used for storing vital supplies as well as the resting place of the camp leaders. Directly outside of the camp observing the chaos from the diversion where two people who appeared to be at the peak of chunin level.

Mugetsu could only assume that these were the leaders. This had been confirmed as when he neared and heard them discussing on whether or not to move their base after this incident. But they would never get the chance to answer. Mugetsu upon forming three handsigns would active his Network Freeze technique. From the sky above the three would seemingly fall raindrops upon them that the bandit leaders would at first be confused by. The night sky was clear so where had the rain come from were their questions. But a few moments later all three leaders would feel a change in their bodies. They would feel that they all lost access to their chakra network. Before Mugetsu would even give them another chance to think upon what jutsu happened he would leap from the cover of the tent towards the bandit leader closest from the left side. Taking a simple kunai from behind the man, Mugetsu would angle the blade in front of the man's throat before flicking his wrist and cutting through his carotid artery.

Using the brief interval in which the other bandit leaders who let their guard down upon seeing their teammates throat be slit Mugetsu would pounce again. This time he would dash into the bandit located in the middle of the group. Mugetsu would launch a powerful kick into the body of the middle bandit leader causing the man to be thrown into the ground. In additon to being thrown into the ground, Mugetsu would use the full force of his body to aim an additional stomp to the mans next killing him instantly. By this point the last bandit leader stood in terror. He tried to use jutsu to protect himself but remember his access to his chakra network had been frozen currently. So all he could do was attack using taijutsu. But unfortunately for the man he had not been skilled in this area and was simply taken down by Mugetsu with a kunai to the heart. This job had not been as clean as Mugetsu wanted but the goal had been completed. He would then slip away from the camp from the same way he entered without being detected. It did not take long for the bandit grunts to find their leaders dead causing further chaos to hit the camp. Surely Kioshi would recieve news of this and escape causing the two to successfully complete their mission.

Taking Care of the Bandit Infestation [Kioshi | Mugetsu] | B-Rank Mission Empty Re: Taking Care of the Bandit Infestation [Kioshi | Mugetsu] | B-Rank Mission

Post by Kioshi Wed Aug 07, 2019 10:16 am

Kioshi had no way of knowing how Mugtesu was dealing with his end of the mission. Instead of worrying about that, he had decided to focus on his task and trust that Mugetsu would deliver what was expected of him.

The diversion had worked. Bandit guards had been distracted. And now he had to make sure they remained distracted until he got some sort of signal. But what would be that signal? He didn’t have time to answer that question.

Kunai, shuriken, and D-rank jutsus, everything was hurled towards him. Close range bandits rushed towards him. They were going all out on him.

His nimble physique and his speed enabled him to keep them at a distance. And his stamina helped him to keep it up. He ran as fast as he could maintaining the distance between him and the bandits. However, he made sure that their attention remained on him.

Every now and then, he picked up a kunai from the ground and threw it back towards his attackers. He needed to keep them pretty much interested in him. That was his role as the diversion.

To defend himself, he picked up a couple of kunai, and threw all but one back and the attacking bandits. Meanwhile, two of them finally managed to close the distance. One attacked with a taijutsu move while the other charged with a weapon using bukijutsu. Seemingly, both their attacks landed and Kioshi appeared to have been stabbed and then kicked far away.

As his apparently lifeless body came to a halt, the bandits thought that they had succeeded but then it turned into a large piece of wood. Kioshi had managed to dodge them by using the substitution jutsu.

”Over there!”

One of the bandits shouted and pointed. It was Kioshi, alive and well. Though, he had been grazed and hurt by several projectiles. But none had managed to do severe damage.

”Is it still not over yet?”

He thought to himself as he looked around frantically for some sort of clue. The only thing he noticed were his attackers. Who were pretty energetic and ready to take him down. He had two options at this point, make a big ball like barrier and run for it. He was saving that for his escape. Or stay, drag it out as much as he could and wait until he got some sort of sign. There was no data for him to act upon. He didn’t know what to do.

Until suddenly, someone came running from behind the bandits that were chasing Kioshi.

”The leaders are dead! All of them! Somebody killed them!!!”

For a moment, all of the bandits paused, and in the silence Kioshi heard the voice loud and clear. This was his getaway signal. If he stayed there any further, he invited the wrath of all of the bandits.

Therefore, he made for the hills literally. Some bandits gave chase while the rest panicked. Without a leader, they had no idea what to do now. Kioshi ran for quite some distance. His speed helped him to put considerable distance between himself and his pursuers, until finally he couldn’t see any of them.

He had managed to lose them all.

”Nice work, Mugetsu-kun”

He would think to himself as he would nod in approval. He didn’t expect Mugetsu to head over to meet him. That was quite unnecessary. And neither of the two had decided that they would meet afterwards.

Maybe another mission would bring the two together again. Who really knew what the future held? But for now, Kioshi and Mugetsu had successfully assassinated bandit leaders and cleared Shikigakure’s outskirts of the bandit infestation.
