To Raze a Village [CONQUEST (D4)] Kiss-Kiss2

"Bend Over and Get Ready For It!"
------------------------------------------------

“Such idiots they are!” A spiteful click of the tongue. Heels dug into the ground; penetrating deeper than the tip of a shovel. With each step, the dirt was uplifted in the Land of Wind. The woods would rustle under the night with a gentle whisper that was drowned by the disgusted cry. “Morons they are! Thus, my name is soiled under the banner of the village famed for medicine!” She would silence herself only when her lips would wrap around the cornwood pipe. Her teeth gnawed at the end while her cheeks took a puff. Even between the inhalations, there was no one that would speak up. Not a single one of the figures with plated footwear would say a word as they would stamp behind her.

“What say you little grand bunny?” The woman would spit, “Yes! You will! Are you not a liaison of the merry band of us helpless little gals?” The woman would say the last part with an unmistakable scorn. Her icy amethyst eyes would gaze at the foggy orbs of blue that looked at her with a pitiful look. She would give not an inch of that pity as she continued to press her lips. It was as if his very gaze elicited an even more harsher tone.

“Well my little Grand Bunny? Speak up! You will!” The woman would spit once more, “Is this country filled with morons or is it not?”

Hikari was thrust in another one of the trick questions spat by his harsh grandmother. As usual, she would present these dilemmas to him with bitterness. All at once, she was detesting the many things about him she hated: that he was shinobi, that he was male, and that he was of their blood. Those very same things haunted him too, only making his cheeks flare red with shame and his head duck. However, as if a thousand voices were screaming in his head, readily to let loose from his tongue, the violet haired child would part his lips ever so slightly. Trembling, they attempted to breath a word between his lips as he would say-

"I would not think they are M-morons. After all...h-have they not lived up to our ideas and expectations, mother?” Another voice would silence his before it would even raise. Hikari’s rabbit-like ears twitching as he knew the gentle and perky voice of his mother. Raising in this moment, it was as if she wished for death as he knew what speaking up and disagreeing with the elder meant. “After all, they have been pacifist and focused on healing, and not war. No invasion of territories, nor have there been any meaningless fights. Have they not lived up to your expectations, mother?”

A faint laughter escaped from Akari Usagi’s throat with such certainty. How could she even laugh so calmly like that? Hikari wondered to no end! Even more surprising, his head would turn as he heard nothing come from the front of the marching platoon. The unseen white shroud of his grandmother beat the air like a swan’s feathers while she continued to walk forth leading the caravan of Usagi women being flanked by Shikigakure’s shinobi. Her icy stare would freeze him over whether he was visually able or not.

“Perhaps…” Hikari could hear her chomp the cornwood pipe once more as she would inhale. Her teeth clicked as if they were a dragon’s razor fangs before they would let go of the pipe’s shaft. Her eyes sweeping aback as she would land her gaze upon the distant daughter. “But I asked you not about this my daughter. No, I did not! It is the young brood of yours that chose this life! The Sun of the Usagi is just as the name implies: you shine bright and blind yourself to the scene! Too much for your own good, you are!” The woman would strike her heel against the ground, spinning upon it and casting her cape back. The hood sliding off revealing her raven black hair and plated obsidian armor that pressed against her body.

“Know this Grand Bunny and men of the village!” She would spit like venom as her cry whipped the air, “A village that does not go to war and wishes to maintain peace is noble! It represents Usagi Clan’s values very closely! However, a village that does not act to defend their family: women and children of local villages and the lands that one governs over is unforgivable! The Usagi Clan are not furry cowards weaved in cloaks of the rabbit! Even in nature, when a snake would creep to a rabbit’s burrow, we fight tenaciously until they slither away or until we know our young no longer are in danger! Understand? Yes, you should!”

Rousing and loud, but a touch of motherly? That was the usual way of the Usagi elder.  Akemi never had failed to rouse the hearts around her. Whether they held their tongues or they would retort back, Akemi seemed unfazed. Hikari’s ears heard well among the darkness around him. Every detail of the following caravan of five would enter his hears until finally they would be silenced with a stamp of a foot echoing from the front of the formation. The elder smashing the plates upon her geta to the ground as she would take another step forth.

“Silence I say!” her demand ripped through the air. “Save your retorts and cries for battle! Ensure every last rough neck in that village of rogues know that Shikigakure is not weak! Why is it you ask and you do? It is because the Usagi Clan are their beloved mothers and sisters that live there! Just like any mother should do, we will rear those unruly bunch and welcome them back in our good graces!” The female would turn on her heel, marching as she would lead them into a downward slope.

Hikari could hear it now: the descent into a valley, the lowly coo of the wind, and the sound of civilization beneath.

“Ready yourselves, yes you will!” Akemi would announce, “It is time to give a lesson in child rearing!”

To Raze a Village [CONQUEST (D4)] Kiss-Kiss2

"Bend Over and Get Ready For It!"
------------------------------------------------

It was quite not obvious how they were treated when they walked over the hill. Perhaps an omen? Yes! An omen! That is what it felt as if they were. The violet haired rabbit believed he was an omen the moment his feet would touch down upon the soil. His sight could not see the faces that would be twisted or looking on with disgust, but he could feel it the moment he kept walking forth. His fingers were kept lowered to his side, but already his ears had flowed with a fresh reservoir of the blood energy as if it was a liquid flooding his brain. His rabbit-like ears on his head, faux they were, twitched to life as the chakra flooded them like blood streaming through the veins.

“They see us coming,” his voice low as he would swallow, “Whispers about them informing their leader.”

The rabbit’s eyes remained lowered as he was commanded. The troop of the two shinobi followed behind the elderly of the five of them. The second at his side with a brisk smile, but Hikari could hear her heart flutter to life. “Very good, Kari-chan!” Her hands pressed together as she walked. “You have become quite good at using Chikaku!” For a moment, her form gave away to her delight. Already, the woman between the group was becoming disgusted. He could hear that as well, and knew that feeling all too well.

“Oh please!” The sour tone would gripe as the woman swept her right hand through the air passively. “I am sure if the young bunny took a piss and told you, you would be proud! So easily amused you are, doting over your only child!” The woman would flare from her nostrils as if she was blowing a flame. Her feet would pound the dirt showing her frustration to the young rabbit like passive aggression. Only a Usagi seemed to know when such foot movements conveyed anger as the ground was as good as finger was sweeping through the air to convey annoyance.

“Do your jobs!” The elder rabbit would chime, “Daughter! Do well to win them over with that...air-headed charm of yours! Young bunny, your ears are the most useful to me! Be sure to keep listening to that one villager as he tries to report. Understand? That lackey will lead us to the one in charge!” The woman’s orders were set in stone in their mind. This left the shinobi that followed her to open their mouths for a brisk moment after looking to one another.

“You sit back and watch!” The elder cut them off before a word could slip out, “I have asked for the aid of the village and wanted you for one reason, and one reason only! You will see soon enough!” The woman would continue to walk, the staff she had in hand acting as a third leg and an absolute conveyance of her annoyance. The base would strike the terrain as if her order was final. Their tongues would lash had it not been for the Usagi woman’s promise to the shadow of the village that she would complete this mission with flare that only a “Usagi could have!”

They would finally descend into the village. A quaint little valley it seemed as they would all stop short into the village’s orders. The enclosure was not as large as Shikigakure. The logs were standing around for an enclosure with sharpened tops in a perfect cone. They were strong together with wire instead of the usual kemp rope and hot glue burned between the weathered back to keep them stable. The outside of the village’s large pieces of wood smelled of something moist of something other than rain: it was a foul scent.

“Blood.” The Usagi elder sniffed the air. Her eyes cutting behind her to the young shinobi that followed her. “Do not go pissing yourselves my darlings! Grandma BunBun needs you to fulfill your purpose! But...keep that fear in mind. I could use it!” The woman would approach the gates slowly. Two men were stationed there as they had raised spears in hand. They looked to be something tribal almost, but their inexperience shown the moment they would take the spears, lower their heads, and direct them towards the Usagi women and the two shinobi that were standing behind her.

“Halt!” A roar that would bring the group to a stop as the shinobi had thrusted the spears forth. Their eyes piercing for the group to see, but Hikari saw something different as he could hear their heart beats. A third rhythmic beat would join in: the thrilled rhythms of his grandmother who seemed to be getting a certain emotion from this encounter as the woman would notice this.

“Is grandmother...excited?”

Should he be surprised? The elderly rabbit was not exactly known for being anything short of controversial and scandalous. He had known of this many times before, but today, he would be fortunate enough to witness it with his own ears. Just at that moment, it held true as she would step forth, controlling her joyous little heartbeat and standing before the group.

“Worry not darlings!” She would chime with the  usual song and dance, “I am Akemi Usagi of the Usagi Clan!” The woman would call aloud. The rabbit would spin in a sudden circle upon her heel as if presenting herself entirely in all her glory. She would stop short, standing before the villagers as they would cut their eyes at the woman. Spears once again thrusting and jousting forward as they seemed to be short of patience. “Let us not become too excited, I have brought you something of value!” She would chime. Her fingers lifting, sweeping upon her chin, and then finally leaning her head in an endearing manner. Her lips would finally utter…

“My dears! I have brought you some prisoners for you to have!” The group would gasp as the woman would stare at them with a mischeivous face. By the race of excitement of her heart, Hikari knew the truth: she was not lying!

To Raze a Village [CONQUEST (D4)] Kiss-Kiss2

"Bend Over and Get Ready For It!"
------------------------------------------------

“Treacherous wench!

“Muddy Bunny!”

“Such language my darlings!” The Usagi woman would cover her mouth coyly, “Tell me you did not see this coming just so I can call you a lie!” The moment was tense and it was obvious what the elder had in mind the moment she turned on her heel and set her eyes upon the two shinobi that accompanied the group of rabbits. The villagers had nothing short of tossed into a chaotic confusion the moment. Their makeshift spears wavered as they would point them between the rabbits...then the shinobi...then the rabbits again…

They were lost in the moment.

“The Usagi look out for themselves, darling!” The woman would chant happily with her fingers drawing to the air, “Never have the village suited our needs as they do not trust us. Lest, this moment? This will benefit us! You will be our hostages, this village will be our clan’s new safe haven to be! The perfect bait to draw in your Kage who will have no choice but to send aid for his helpless....shinobi...yes? Exactly right, it is!” The woman would happily give a chuckle as if she heard a joke. Hikari was at odds, standing and watching in vain once more. His ears however heard every word and every thrilling pound of the woman’s heart.

“Grandmother is serious!” The violet haired boy would laugh, “She has every intention of using these shinobi as bait. Will she-”

“Young bunny!” The elder would gesture a sweeping hand to Hikari. It would go from him to his mother. “Do well to...bound these shinobi, will you? Fulfill your purpose!”

It should have been obvious! Hikari knew his grandmother would use him to be a bodyguard or a muscle of some sort. It only would fill him with dread knowing that the Usagi males were used in such a way. All at once, a wave of nostalgia hit him. It was more of a torrential wave carrying nothing short of a depressing, coldness that would make his blood go into a chill as he felt like an object. The violet haired boy’s chest pounded as for a moment, he felt a dread in his heart while he could hear the pounding of the sihnobi’s hearts racing. He knew this rhythm well: that they were ready to take the offensive.

They did not hesitate like him!

The sound of metal would slide along more metal. Their hands grasped instruments as they would take the kunai and shuriken that was within their pouches along their leg and whip their arms out in sheer, unimaginable speed. A flurry of weapons were thrown out quickly as if steel would be riding a turbulent wind.

“No chance in he-”

The cry of the shinobi was cut short as suddenly the pieces of metal had been blown away with a fervent gust. It was almost as if a storm had quickly whipped up, but alas, it was a body that was within the middle of it all. The powerful gust would send the pieces of the metal scattering about. “Severe Hare Hurricane!” The sudden whip of the woman’s movement before them would cause Hikari to gasp in realization to whom he was hearing move in such an elegant manner. “Kari-chan! Do not hesitate!”

The violet haired rabbit would quickly dash forth, kicking off from his perch at his grandmother’s side. His body would sweep past his mother’s who was standing in a statuesque manner. The next movement would be a swift double sweep as he would move with a single kick and spin on his heel to deliver another kick. The double strike would land sending the shinobi launching skyward. His heel would dig into the terrain, his motions consistent as the other shinobi would move in as he drew another weapon from his pouch along his thigh. The kunai he had lift upward as the rabbit closed in. He was ready for a close-range fight, apparently!

“Rabbits must use their cunning!”

The boy remembered his lessons well. The violet rabbit would quickly weave had signs as he would dash forth towards the shinobi. The moment the last seal was made, Hikari would leap towards the shinobi only to come up short. His body entering the dirt beneath their feet as if with a splash. The shinobi’s confusion was apparent with every bewildered step he made upon the dirt. Fortunately, for him, the Usagi could sense these things as they burrowed through the dirt. Hikari would carefully move about before finally making another set of seals that would send ripples through the terrain.

“I am sorry…”

A silent whisper to himself as Hikari’s hands would burst from the ground. With him breaching the dirt, he would grasp at the ankles of the shinobi and tightly grasp. With a powerful tug, he would pull the figure into the dirt as if it were water. His chakra would quickly pact the dirt and harden it back to its regular consistency as Hikari would move once again through the dirt and slowly swim to the surface. His hands pushed along the ground as he would exit from the terrain upon all fours. His eyes did not see it, but his ears would twitch as he could sense the presence standing before him.

“Well done little grand bunny!” The figure before him would chime with glee. “Purpose fulfilled!” The elder would chime as she would let out a boisterous laugh. The shinobi that was within the dirt growled and struggled with no progression towards freeing himself. The other distant as he laid upon the terrain moaning and groaning in defeat. The scene that the violet haired rabbit took in through his ears did not feel right. It was not something he was proud of, and it only filled him with dread once more. He had been many things: a mistake since birth, a disgrace to his clan, but now a traitor?

The shame he felt knew no bounds.
