Gluttony Rising[Event Mission] Empty Gluttony Rising[Event Mission]

Post by Rei Thu Aug 01, 2019 5:39 pm

Snow stretched across the Land of snow, as far as the eye could see. Despite the ironic name, the Land of Snow did not naturally had such powerful snowstorms. It snowed at least once a month and snow remained in portions of the land.... Other sections of the land remained green with vegetation and moderate warmth. That was not the case currently however. Anyone visiting for the first time, would see that everywhere was solid white and frozen, as if frozen in time. They would think "No wonder this place is called the Land of Snow"

Of course there would be few if anyone that was a resident to the land, to correct their misrepresentation of their beautiful homelands. It was either too dangerous to venture outside, or there was simply no one alive. From a mixture of the cold and the rampaging Bijuu pair. The closest living beings, would be an army of samurai marching from their homeland in the heart of the Land of Iron. A powerful force to be reckoned with, yet slow. Even slower if one considered the amount of snow they had to traverse to reach the destination that these beasts resided in. Along the way, they would dig survivors from the snow and have parties escort them back to safety and warmth. The samurai had requested aid from around the shinobi world and received a response from at least two major shinobi villages. Their closest neighbors, Chozogakure and Shikigakure. Johogakure had been silent on the matter: a reasonable response, given the first Bijuu still rampaged on their borders with Shikigakure.

Chozogakure and its ally, Shikigakure had agreed to aid the Land of Snow, even though it was across a great distance of water. They would both send shinobi to assist in subduing these two Bijuu. A punitive force to seal the beasts away inside large scrolls. The shinobi would meet at the very edge of Chozogakure's lands in the territory of A4 and board a ship together. Once the ship set sail, it would travel the one thousand miles to the destination. The earliest the group was expected to arrive, was two weeks once the ship set sail. The shinobi would have to spend two weeks on the ship, getting to know one another and devise strategies to defeat two Bijuu at once.

Unlike the first Bijuu appearance and recon mission. This was a subjugation mission. Shikigakuure had shared the knowledge it gleamed from the first Bijuu recon mission and now Chozo was set on making the power of the Bijuu, their own. They saw the defeat of Johogakure as an opportunity. If they could seal the Bijuu and make them into weapons, they ould crush Johogakure while their rival village was too busy fending off the first Bijuu on their borders. Of course the shinobi of Shikigakure did not know about the specifics- Chozogakure had only agreed to seal the monsters away if they couldn't defeat them. As such, they had sent two Jounin, a Sannin and a Chuunin. Shikigakure had sent some of their own, though only acting as support- they sent a Special Jounin and a Chuunin.

The Sannin(Makuro) was a master of Fuinjutsu. It was his duty to seal the two Bijuu. The two Jounin(Itami & Vex) served as two parts- attack and healing. The Chuunin(Neah) was there to serve as support of his superiors. Shikigakure's added forces were Kuro and Kioshi. Shikigakure hadn't been able to send many, nor any more powerful for fear of upsetting Johogakure. Their neutrality served as a double-edged sword.

Gluttony Rising[Event Mission] Empty Re: Gluttony Rising[Event Mission]

Kuro approached the docks around an hour before the designated meeting time. He and a specially crafted team would be heading out into the Land of Snow to capture some form of creature that had been spotted causing trouble there. He figured he was chosen due to his distinct inability to die. He knew he would be best suited to distract the beast while the sealing was happening or to do some dangerously close intel gathering prior to launching the initial assault on it. From the information he had been able to gather, these things were massive and could cause untold amounts of destruction with little to no visible effort. This was far more than he could handle, and he had severe doubts that any living shinobi could take on one of these things single handedly. He seemed to have arrived at the boat before anyone else, so he would go onboard and wait at the head of the ship for his team to arrive. He was wearing his normal clothing topped by his black, hooded haori with the kanji for suicide on the back. It was filled on its inner pockets with storage scrolls containing all of his weapons and gunpowder. He was wearing his black ignition gloves, ready for action for whenever they arrived at the Land of Snow.

The snow haired boy sat on the edge of the boat with his legs dangling off, his pink eyes scanning his surroundings. Whenever someone else arrived to the boat, he would give a nonchalant wave with a casual, "Yo." He supposed he could have said more, but he decided he would let others do the talking at the beginning of this mission, once he felt everyone out, he would then decide how best to move forwards.

Gluttony Rising[Event Mission] Empty Re: Gluttony Rising[Event Mission]

Post by neah Fri Aug 02, 2019 7:24 pm

This was it his very first S rank mission. He was excited his heart was in his throat. his pulse was beating almost to the point where he could dance to it. He had just been promoted to special jounin and his kage had assigned him to go with them. He was still so young but he had talent. Perhaps the kage had sent him because of his wood style kekkai Genkai. He was unsure how useful he was going to be with this mission. But he would not hesitate to help out his comrades. Well he also had a secret up his sleeve he had finally picked up. A combination of his summoning and the amplification Jutsu.

He slowly licked his lips as he would follow behind the jounin from his village. He had never seen snow before and was rather curious about what it felt like its taste. So many new sensations to be learned from a new climate he had never experienced. Not to mention he would get more geographical information for when or if the village wished to claim the land of snow. But for now, they had a monster of chakra to deal with. He was so excited when he had heard the details and description of the tailed beast, Of all the creatures of the world the snake was his favorite. He loved to study snakes or even just be around them they were fascinatingly resourceful creatures.

He poked his head out and looked out and now he had seen something new once again the sight of the ocean. He had never seen it before the smell of the salty air washed over his nostrils and he smiled happily and excitedly walked ahead of the team and towards the dock. His headband refracted off the light of the sun as he noted an older boy as he greeted him with a "yo" he smiled and bowed his head respectfully and smiled up at the older boy. he couldn't have been but a few years older than him. "Hi, there you must be one of the Shikigakure shinobi." He walked up the plank of the boat and moved towards the boy and outstretched his hand to the boy to shake. "Nice to meet ya I'm Neah Senju I look forward to working with you and your team." His tone f voice was kind and compassionate and with a hint of excitment mixed in. He was not lieing he was looking forward to meeting other people outside of his village.

Gluttony Rising[Event Mission] Empty Re: Gluttony Rising[Event Mission]

Post by Kioshi Sat Aug 03, 2019 1:04 pm

The Day Before
This mission, in fact this entire situation, was pretty challenging for Kioshi to gather his thoughts on. He had received a direct mission from the kage. That was good. But the nature of this mission, he could very well lose his life.

He cast another gaze at the mission scroll containing all the information. The sun was about to set and he had to complete his preparation. All shinobi were supposed to meet at the bay tomorrow and set off for a two week long journey that would bring them to the land of snow.

He had never been outside the village, so this was a big deal. At least it was the biggest deal for his family.

As he sat quietly in the main hall of his house while his parents, siblings, and relatives panicked to get supplies for this one shinobi in the family, who was about to embark on a deadly mission, Kioshi couldn’t help but feel pampered. However, his thoughts were focused on several other important things:

”This bijuu. Our previous recon clearly states that it’s exceptionally powerful and capable of destroying villages. What really is this creature? Will this one be the same as the last one? And where did it come from? And why was I, a chuunin with barely any experience, chosen for a supportive role for this position?

His mind was baffled and his concerns were real. Nevertheless, his choices were none. Everyone gathered tons of supplies for him and then he was sent to bed. He was supposed to leave the village early in the morning after all.

Early Morning Present Day

”Take care of yourself Kioshi. Don’t get involved in something too dangerous”

Shouted his mother as he set off to the village gates with a large bag pack filled with supplies. He only waved back and said nothing in reply. It was already too dangerous to begin with. But then again, that was the path of the shinobi.

The distance between the village gate and Kioshi’s first destination was quite a bit. So he decided to travel continuously. That saved time but it still took him until the evening to show up. He was the last to show up, and was late by half an hour.

”Thar she blows!”
Vex would cheerfully shout and point after Kioshi would make his appearance. Embarrassingly, Kioshi would bow and apologize for being late, not verbally though.

”Never mind. We’re all here and it’s not too late. Let’s begin, shall we?”
Spoke the most senior shinobi on the scene, and sort of a legend in his own right, the sannin Makuro of Chozogakure. He was critical to this mission. With a single gesture, he would signal the ship to set sail, and assuming everyone had arrived, the ship’s captain would comply.

Kioshi would find a place to put his things below deck. This was a long journey, he needed to find his “quiet places” too.

For the mission, Kioshi wore his customary genin attire. It was a comfy grey colored sweater, with a white colored shirt underneath, and black pants on his feet. For a shinobi, it was pretty modern.

He was aware that another shinobi from Shikigakure would be with him for this mission. He didn’t know it would be Kuro-senpai though. After placing his things, he would go straight to him and greet him formally. They had done a mission together before and this was yet another encounter. He was glad, at least he didn’t have to interact with total strangers.

”We meet again senpai”

He would say with a gentle tone and a smile on his face. Kioshi was more comfortable with people he had met than people he had never seen before.

Kioshi would also notice that there would be another person on-board. A person wearing the chozogakure headband. In order to avoid being too awkward, Kioshi wouldn’t say anything to them but he would bow and greet them. He was the non-talkative type.

After the subtle greetings would conclude, Kioshi would find a quiet place above deck, he would proceed to sit with legs folded. He knew that they needed to strategize and get to know one another. But this was a long trip and they had ample time to do that. So much time, that he didn’t need to take the initiative.

Not that he was the type to take it anyway; at least never in a social setting.

Everyone had arrived, Makuro made sure that everyone assigned on the mission had shown up. With his consent, the ship set sail and began its slow and long journey around what was known as the shinobi world. Their destination would be at the far ends of the shinobi world, the Land of Snow, very near tot he Sakurai's homeland, the Land of Iron. "The journey will be long. Maintain your rations and remember to exercise daily so your body and mind are prepared when we reach our destination." Makuro would say, giving a small speech to the scattered shinobi on the top deck of the medium-sized ship. The crew members went about their business and left the shinobi to their own mission.

The older shinobi would leave the younger ones to themselves for now. They would wait until near the end of their voyage to give further instructions on their plan. Daily, the shinobi would exercise if they chose to follow the team leader's orders. Makuro would lead in exercises in the early mornings on the top deck of the ship. It was obvious from the way they moved, the two Jounin and the Sannin were used to working together.

Finally, after nearly the full few weeks had passed- the land would be sighted over the flat and peaceful surface of the sea. "Land Ho!" a voice would call out from above, getting everyone's attention towards the front of the ship. That was the que Makuro had been waiting for. He would wait for everyone to gather and then he would draw them in a close circle, hovering over a map with finely detailed markings on it.

His fingers would slowly touch the map and slide across to several points on the map. First he would start by touching the Land of Iron, speaking and moving his index finger as he spoke. "First. Our allied forces of Samurai won't arrive for a week or so. We will advance on these two Bijuu and try to divide them. If we can divert one of them, we will effectively reduce their overall power. While we battle one, the samurai should make it in time to intercept the second Bijuu. We will separate them here in the snow. There is an icy ravine. If we are lucky, we can fool one of them into falling into the ice canyon." he would say. Once he had given the basic plan to the group, he would leave it up to their knowledge and skills to accomplish this task. There was just one more bit of information. "Itami, Vex and I will form a three-man team. Kuro, Neah & Kioshi will also form a three-man cell. As the senior team, we will directly combat the first Bijuu. You guys will serve as support, as well as diverting the second serpent Bijuu towards the icy ravine."  If there were no objections, once they made landfall, they would put on some provided white fur cloaks to shield them from the cold snowy landscape.

Gluttony Rising[Event Mission] Empty Re: Gluttony Rising[Event Mission]

Post by Kuro Mon Aug 05, 2019 9:07 pm

Kuro, once everyone had arrived, had moved to store his limited items below deck in the trunk at the foot of his bunk. The ship was definitely not brand new and they would all be sharing a living quarter it would seem with bunks lining both walls of the room designated for sleep, as well as storing a few rations of non-perishable items and kegs of ale. Once he had put his stuff down, he meandered back up to the top deck to watch the land vanish behind them on the horizon. It was here, that he was approached by Kiyoshi, whom he had met on a mission prior to this one, Kuro would indulge him in small talk, but overall wouldn't bring anything too interesting up to discussion. Kuro decided he would only eat what he needed to survive and stay fit, as it wouldn't do for him to take anyone else's rations or more than his share. He would also join the senior shinobi on the mission, Makuro, each morning for his exercise routine, which Kuro was able to keep up easily, somewhat easier than the mans two companions, mostly due to his heavy physical and taijutsu type build. He didn't focus any of his training into his chakra or building a natural defense against attacks, he didn't need such things. He was much better off capitalizing on his gift, than trying to avoid using it.

When they arrived ashore in the land of snow, Kuro's first words were, "No wonder this place is called the Land of Snow." He supposed that it was an obvious statement, but this was the most snow he had ever seen, having spent his life for the most part, in an underground lab and then only around a year and a few months on the outside. Once he received his cloak, he would put it on over his black one, though in such a manner that it didn't interfere with his access to his tools. Once the two teams had been divided up, he supposed that it would be his job as the senior shinobi on his team to take on the leadership role. Simply put, he would rally his two teammates and head off to flank the bijuu's supposed location in such a place that they could see clearly when Alpha Team initiated their first strike. When given their orders from Makuro, Kuro would respond with a crisp nod, "Roger." Before heading in their prescribed direction.

Gluttony Rising[Event Mission] Empty Re: Gluttony Rising[Event Mission]

Post by neah Wed Aug 07, 2019 3:28 pm

Neah was a little offended at the man as he seemed to have just ignored him. He withdrew his hand to shake and would also move to claim a place to place his things. He hoped there would be bunk beds if there were he so was going to call top bunk. he chuckled to himself as he placed his stuff below and on a bed which was happily was a bunk bed. He would return upside as makuro just began to speak. The boat beginning to move away from the dock. The rocking of the ship was a little unnerving he was not a sea person per se. He had never been on a boat before.

He felt his stomach churn a little bit at the waves as the boat rocked ut he would acclimate. He listened to Makuro and nodded his head however he had raised his hand in objection. "Makuro-senpai as much as I like the sound of that plan I have a different proposal. I know it may sound odd but please hear me out. The snakes will be slow and lethargic within the land of snows cold temperature snakes usually die from those types of temperatures but perhaps because of its size it is surviving, I would like to have permission to join your team and perhaps try to reason with the monster I have a reputation and understanding with snakes, I know it may sound crazy but if the monster has any sort of intelligence it might be able to be reasoned with I'm willing to take the risk though."

He looked over towards the two members from shikigakure and sighed. "I mean no disrespect to you or you two but I do not know what your skills and tactics and I believe my substitute would be more useful to you. However, should Makuro say no I will work with you but I would still like to try and communicate with the serpent, I would like both teams if possible not to engage in combat with the serpents till after i tried if we disturbed one we may disturb the other and make it violent towards us." He would give a bow of pleading towards both Makuro's team and the shikigakure team. He wanted to study these snakes more than anything right now. After he had heard his reply from makuro he would follow which ever team he would be assigned. He was greatful to be off the boat more than anything the first few daysw were hell for him on his stomach

Gluttony Rising[Event Mission] Empty Re: Gluttony Rising[Event Mission]

Post by Kioshi Thu Aug 08, 2019 1:10 pm

Kioshi had never been to another village. He had never been on a sea voyage. And he had never been on a sea voyage this long. So the best course of action for him, was to listen and do what the experienced shinobi told him to do.

In this case, he maintained his rations and made sure to exercise daily with quite the capable shinobi.

Every day was a routine, it was the same old thing. Well, this was never meant to be an enjoyable journey anyways. This was the first ever attempt at sealing a bijuu or at least defeating it in the shinobi history. This had never been done before and no matter what this group did, it would go down as historic events. But that totally depended on how things turned out. If they were squashed the minute they got there, well then the historians wouldn’t have much to write, now would they?

And there was quite a high probability of them getting squashed. The reason being the mystery of the giant beast themselves. Like why were they so giant? Where did they come from? Why did they have such large amounts of chakra? And what did their existence signify for the shinobi world? Were they simply the embodiment of power? Or did they mean more? Only time would tell. This mission would probably reveal a lot.

Of course the last one did too. But Kioshi didn’t have the clearance to know what really happened there.

After two weeks of travelling, as the mission scroll predicted, they finally saw land again. When his senpai from Shikigakure, Kuro-san spoke, Kioshi couldn’t agree more. This was probably the reason why this area was called the land of snow. The moment he spoke out though, Itami in the distance clearly shook his head. He didn’t say anything but he disagreed.

The verbal correction came from Makuro-san himself.

”Hahaha.. this is strange. This is the land of snow. But it’s not supposed to be covered by snow. At least not like this”

The veteran had probably been there before.

”Okay.. but what’s so funny?”

His loud laugh was rather confusing for Kioshi. But he didn’t dare audibly question it. After this brief exchange, Makuro relayed his instructions about dividing the group. Kioshi couldn’t help but raise an eye-brow at it. So all the experienced and capable shinobi were going to be lumped together? Not that he was undermining his senpai. But these guys were sent to fight the thing and Kioshi and the other shinobi were meant as support.

Wouldn’t it have been better to divide them equally? This almost felt like Kioshi’s group were being sent to die. However, again, he did not speak up. But someone else did.

Attentively, but quietly, Kioshi listened to what this person had to say. Was it even possible? They knew so little about bijuus. Were these giant beasts capable of reasoning? Kioshi didn’t know the answer to that. And he expected that even the seniors of the mission did not know the answer to it. But why had this person talked about large snakes in particular?

”Senpai, are these bijuus large snakes or something?”

Perpetually confused, Kioshi would walk next to his senpai and then whisper the question so that only he could hear it. Did he miss a meeting? Did they describe the bijuu already? If so, who saw it? And more importantly how?

This shinobi, did he have some sort of doujutsu that enabled him to see far away? Or did he have some sort of sensory ability that showed him the bijuus?

Nevertheless, what Kioshi was hoping for, had already been suggested by this shinobi. Kioshi did not know his name because they never really talked on the ship. But now he wanted to know the name of this snake-whisperer and seer of things far away. What did they call him?

After his suggestions, he also turned towards Kioshi and his senpai, speaking to them about his intentions. Kioshi nodded in reply. He wasn’t the higher ranked shinobi here and he wasn’t the most talkative type. So he hoped that his senpai would reply for Shikigakure.

If Kuro-senpai wouldn’t utter a word, Kioshi would step up and reply:

”Our instructions are to provide support. If that’s what Makuro-san decides, we’ll follow suit. If he decides otherwise, we'll provide support as he instructs”

After that, Kioshi would step back, as if he was done with a formal announcement or something. For a moment, he felt super good because he felt that he had spoken in a super cool way.

Once the decision would be made, Kioshi would begin following his assigned group and move about in the direction that Makuro-san would have instructed them to do so.

Gluttony Rising[Event Mission] Empty Re: Gluttony Rising[Event Mission]

Post by Rei Fri Aug 09, 2019 12:40 am

After Makuro had expressed the plan, he had waited for input from the others. He knew the risks and expected skepticism. What he was asking the younger team to do was essentially suicide. He was going to explain that their role wasnt to do direct combat with the monster, just to distract it. Neah suddenly threw him off guard with his suggestion. He raised an eyebrow at the young man. His suggestion was followed by the Shiki-nin Kioshi asking a question that was mostly rhetorical... Then he thought about it. He hadn't actually told them what the monsters were like! He raised a hand to halt the questions and any advancements of the plan. "Wait. There are a couple of things we should clarify before this mission is set in motion. First... The younger team- you three. You are to derail the 2nd Bijuu from joining the first while we seal the first monster in a giant scroll. Don't fight the monster, just harass it and keep it distracted. Make it fall into that icy ravine if possible with explosives or something." he would say, glancing at Kuro for a moment.

Then he would continue "Second. Our mission is to defeat these two Bijuu. Whether by sealing them away or killing them, though the village of Chozo has prioritized sealing them for study. Killing them is our alternate plan if they cannot be sealed. Now this plan also ties into the information that some of you may have missed. The report from this land described the two Bijuu as giant snakes. White and black in color. With that settled, we will continue with our original plan. Our job is to neutralize the monsters, not talk to them." He didn't mean to belittle Neah at all, but it was a foolish idea. These demons had terrorized the land, eaten countless freezing citizens. There was no room for "cooperation" with these monsters. With the order given, he would wave his hand to begin the operation & they would disperse in highspeed movement towards to designated location.

So, they had finally arrived and had begun setting up their strategy, and that is when things went sideways. The Chozogakure ninja, who wasn't on the senior squad wanted to talk to the bijuu, and as amusing as that may be to watch, they could do that once they had captured one of them. Or, he could try to talk to it as a distraction, because snakes were rather slow, at least he would imagine large ones were, so there would be no issue there. He was about to say he didn't care, when the older team leader began to speak.

Once he had said his part and they dispersed, Kuro would motion for his team to draw in to plan. He could tell that the man had at least heard of his skill with explosives, so that may be something they wanted to try. "Alright, with these things being in the snow and lethargic, like you said Neah-kun, maybe you would be able to speak with them. But, I say we wait for that sort of thing until we have them separated. Now, we should do a quick memory jogger of our general skills and abilities. I'm Kuro, I specialize in explosives and I'm immortal. Now you." He kept it short and to the point, once the three of them had declared their abilities, he would then speak again.

"Okay, so now we know what we are capable of, we need to move around to flank them and try to wedge the snakes apart. Due to my condition, I believe I should be the only one that attempts to get close to them at first, until we can see their reaction speeds and things of that nature. If there are no reservations to this plan, lets move out." He would then move in high speeds in their designated direction to begin the process of taking down the beasts.

Neah listened remaining silent as he listened to the team leader. His overall plan to try and speak with the snakes well didn't seem to go over well. he sighed as he took out a notepad and a pen and jotted down a few notes about what he may have missed about the mission briefing but also for what Makuro. He had an idea but no it was stupid probably wasn't even possible. He closed his notebook and put it inside his vest. He nodded as he was still to be assigned to the two Shiki shinobi. He nodded his head and cracked his neck to the side. Things were going to get very troublesome very quickly.

He sighed and looked towards his commander and nodded turned around to look towards the group he was going to be in with for the time being. He cleared his throat he was still a bit sheepish but well there was no time to act like a shy child battle was going to be starting soon. "I'm Neah Senju, I specialize in ninjutsu and Space-time ninjutsu and I also have my kekkai Genkai." What was with this Kuro guy talk about ego claiming he was immortal. No one is immortal not truly we all have a set life span. He wouldn't believe till he saw it with his own eyes if this man truly claimed to be immortal.

Once the other member had introduced themselves he listened to the man who introduced him as Kuro. "Not so fast Mr possible immortal first we need to figure out the type of snake it is we could be dealing with a highly venomous type or it could be a constrictor if it's poisonous it could either use its fangs or it could be the type that spits it. Either way, it will be difficult to get close I do have an idea though it might be more beneficial if I go in first. I can use my summoning contract to possibly get closer but it might or might not work."

And then, things were clarified. The sannin gave a brief description of the bijuu and that filled the gap in Neah’s offer. They were indeed snakes. Unlike Neah, this was news for Kioshi.

If they resembled snakes in physical form, did that mean that the physiology and thus habits of the creature, otherwise known as bijuu, was the same as the common reptile? Were they really lethargic in this kind of weather? If so, this would be a relatively easy task. If not, then they were in for a grave surprise.

Nevertheless, the decision was made. Though Neah’s suggestion wasn’t really off-point, the mission instructions advised otherwise. And as the leader of this mission, Makuro decided against it. They were not to try and come to some sort of compromise with the creature. Their instructions were to either seal them or defeat them. Regardless of the fact that neither had been done before in the history of all shinobi.

”One way or the other, history will be made. And I get to be a part of it”

He thought, as Kuro-senpai took the lead and introduced himself. Kioshi had fought alongside him before but he didn’t know Kuro’s skill set. In fact, he was as surprised as anyone else when Kuro openly claimed that he was immortal. How did that work? Had Shikigakure’s prowess in Ijutsu really gone this far? Or was this some sort of a bloodline trait? There were too many questions about this. But this was not the time for that.

Then, Neah stepped up and introduced himself. Neah turned out to be a Senju, capable in ninjutsu and space-time ninjutsu; a powerful and probably deadly combination. Then it was time for Kioshi to step up and introduce himself.

Right before he spoke, for a very brief moment, he paused and realized something, he was the least special of all of them. No bloodline, no special abilities, no special skills, just a common chuunin with skills in a single kind of ninjutsu. In other words, if this collection of shinobi was a chain, Kioshi was probably the weakest link in terms of quality and the materials made.

”Kioshi. I can provide support with barrier-ninjutsu”

The shortest introduction of them. There were two reasons for that: one he wasn’t very talkative, and the other that was about it.

And then before they could depart, yet another contradiction in opinion surfaced. The immortal Kuro-senpai wanted to step in and be the hero. And the senju from Chozogakure, wanted to do the same thing but in his own style. Before this could carry on any further, Kioshi decided to suggest something that would solve this argument and prevent future ones of similar nature.

”Kuro-senpai, we must maintain our supportive role to the Chozogakure shinobi. While I understand that you find yourself most suitable for a direct attack. We have to make sure that we do as is expected of us”

This wasn’t a very clear expression of his opinion or thought. But he hoped Kuro-senpai would pick the meaning between the lines. Kioshi had just reminded Kuro-senpai that as representatives from Shikigakure, they needed to remain neutral. This was how their village dealt with situations like this.

As Shikigakure shinobi, they couldn’t aggressively support Chozogakure. However, as they were allies, they still had to provide them support. If Kuro-senpai played an integral role, this could reflect badly on the village. And Kioshi wanted to make sure that such a thing would not happen.

Hoping that his interruption and suggestion to both the higher ranked shinobi would solve the situation, the group would move forward. In the direction of where the beasts were said to be. At this time, Kioshi could care less about arguments between the squad. He understood that it was of paramount importance that they worked together. However, his mind just couldn’t stray from thoughts about the bijuu that awaited them, nearby.

Gluttony Rising[Event Mission] Empty Re: Gluttony Rising[Event Mission]

With the order given and the two teams dispersing, Makuro felt a sense of concern for the younger team. He may have been the leading shinobi on this mission... but he was concerned. No one had ever fought such monsters and he was uncertain for his own team on their success. His concern for the younger generation of shinobi was much greater. "Makuro. Focus on our task. Those guys can handle themselves." Itami said suddenly, interrupting the silence as they dashed through the snowy ground. Itami was a silent man whom hardly spoke, but Makuro was a friend and he knew the inner turmoil his good hearted friend was struggling with. Makuro just laughed it off and pretended like Itami hadn't hit the nail on the head.

Likewise, Vex was also concerned. She hid it better however and just smiled softly at Makuro pretending to be strong and confident. She knew him better than anyone. Although he was skilled, he had too big of a heart for others.

The three of them would reach their target first, but they wouldn't begin their assault until the other team gave the signal. That was of course, supposed to be an attack to distract the White serpent and lead it away while Makuro's team would attack the black serpent. The three of them would wait several moments, hiding behind snowy mounds. Whatever the second team did, they wouldn't attack until it was clear that the second team had gotten the white snake's attention and lead it away. Once the plan was set in motion, the three of them would move quickly. Makuro and Itami would move together, performing handseals in unison. Itami released a large fireball from his lips and shot it towards the black serpent's head. Makurto released a powerful stream of wind from his lips and engulfed the fireball before it reached the black serpent. This would result in an even larger and more powerful fireball that would slam into the face of the black Bijuu. It would close its eyes out of reaction and open its large mouth to release a powerful roar of pain and rage.

Kuro would take a moment to listen to everyone. Neah seemed to believe he and his summons were the most useful to get in close to this giant snake, and he did seem to be somewhat knowledgeable about the subject. But, their job was to distract the snake and draw the white snake away from the black snake. Not to study them, or attempt an interaction. If the Senju wanted to interact with it, he would have to do so once the mission is complete. "Senju-san, we are not here to study them, or to communicate with them. We are here to capture them both. The main goal of this team is to distract them and separate them, our target will be the white snake. The other team is no doubt already in place, waiting on us to begin the attack, so we must not keep them waiting. You and I will be the main attack force, while Kioshi provides us with support through his barriers. Lets move." With that, he would take off with, or without them. He had a goal in mind and would take no part in wasting the other teams time any further. He would rush straight to the massive creature, and it was massive, he could not even see the end of it. As he drew nearer, he would pull out three Ouroboros Bombs, two in his right hand and one in his left, throwing all three directly at the white snakes face, the explosion would be more than enough of a signal to the other team as it spread nearly sixty meters in all directions around the snakes face.

Gluttony Rising[Event Mission] Empty Re: Gluttony Rising[Event Mission]

Post by neah Mon Aug 12, 2019 5:28 am

As he finished speaking he would begin the preparations for his plan. biting into his dominate hands thumb which was his right hand he then made the following seals Boar → Dog → Bird → Monkey → Ram and slammed his hand onto the ground after the third member of his team had introduced himself and told him he was a barrier specialist jutsu user. He waved side to side as the smoke cleared and looked out at the direction of where he was supposed to be going. He looked towards Kuro and sighed " I know that was not here to study them but best to keep some distance for now also Kuro I want you to do me a favor and once we begin distracting it I want you to do an attack on my snake with a total power NO explosives with power over 97 power or taijutsu trust me I got a plan."

His snake Kurokiba or affectionately known to Neah as Kuro hissed at the cold climate and looked at his Summoner  "Neah-sama what are your orders." The snake lowered its head and offered its head down to Neah and he jumped onto it and smiled as he gently patted his companion on the head. As Neah had placed his hand upon kurokiba he had placed another jutsu upon his beloved snake. A sort of protective measurement the snake had felt it and closed its eyes and chuckled at his master's cleverness.

"Ahh I see now formation B it is then." His snake if capable of smiling  grinned and neah nodded his head and spoke: "We need to go to the area where the white snake is old friend maybe see if we can distract it long enough while everyone else got into formation." He looked down at Kiyoshi as Kuro went ahead and he shook his head " Is he always this enthusiastic? anyways you said your name was Kioshi can you erect a barrier around the white snake if not if possible can you make a barrier like a shield around me the front of my summon to act as a sort of shield?" He looked towards the charging Kuro and "Kuro go after him." The snake hissed and moved at its full speed slithering as it went to try to catch up to Kuro from shikigakure. His snake was fast but not as fast as the Shiki shinobi.

However, he noticed something as he was moving towards the white snake there was a separation of coloring yet there was not sigh of tails for either snake. A sudden realization came upon him as he shouts out at his explosive ally. " THEY'RE NOT TWO SNAKES its one being two heads get out of there!" KuroKiba posed to open its mouth and would attempt to lunge at the white snake to sink its fangs into the snakes hide while neah slid down its back preparing a substitution jutsu just incase.

Gluttony Rising[Event Mission] Empty Re: Gluttony Rising[Event Mission]

Post by Kioshi Tue Aug 13, 2019 2:47 am

Kioshi had seen bigger creatures before. Elephants and large summons but nothing as big as this. It was like everyone else was pretty much okay with how big this thing was. Let’s remember, these bijuu are anomalies. Nobody has seen them. Kioshi hadn’t either. And for him, the sheer size of this creature was scary.

Why is everybody else acting so cool and calm? We’re up against impossible odds here. This thing could crush us by sheer force alone.

Sure, he was a shinobi. But reality was not lost on him. This was his first S-Rank mission after all. Nevertheless, he knew he was to provide support, so he silently slapped himself to stay calm. A red cheek would signify that something had just hit him, however, only those who were paying attention would notice that.

Kioshi’s suggestion to both the higher ranked shinobi fell on deaf ears. Neither of them even responded to what he had said. Was he so unnoticeable in this situation? Kuro-senpai said one thing and charged ahead. Neah said another thing and did the same.

”Is this how support works? Or is it that I’m not the only one overwhelmed by the odds here?”

Was this sheer determination to act of the two in his team, simply because they were panicking? He hoped that wasn't the case. But that’s what he felt like.

When Kuro-senpai charged ahead, Kioshi did not follow. He was not the type to stand in the frontlines nor was that his specialty. He would leave that to those who were more capable and from behind he would provide them support. If he did his part well enough, he hoped that the others would be fine long enough to take the credit for everything.

But his hope was shattered.

Kuro-senpai, being an immortal that he had said he was, blindly charged ahead. Neah, not being an immortal, summoned a powerful looking snake and followed Kuro-senpai. Kioshi could only nod in reply when Neah said something about Kuro-senpai and then Neah asked him to do two completely different things.

He was either to create a barrier around the bijuu’s head or create a barrier around Neah. If he made a barrier around the bijuu’s head, wouldn’t that protect the bijuu? So why make that one?

Making one around Neah though, made more sense to Kioshi. So he decided to do that. Unfortunately, he didn’t have a defense specific shield like jutsu. Therefore he had to improvise and use a jutsu that was meant to capture people as a defensive shield for Neah.

While Kuro-senpai charged ahead, Neah followed, and before Kuro-senpai released those gigantic explosions, Kioshi made the bird cage barrier around Neah to protect Neah from incoming attacks. Little did Kioshi know that the first attack would come from their mess of a team work.

After the physical barrier was created around Neah, not his snake, Kuro-senpai would release the gigantic explosion that would be more than 60 meters in radius. Neah followed close behind and attempted to attack the bijuu head on too. So Neah charged straight into the blast radius. Kioshi though, wasn’t within the 60 meters, he was at a distance but staying close. If we were to quantize Kioshi’s distance from the blast radius, that would be 80 meters. For now he was safe.

Kioshi would have been caught in the blast radius though, if it wasn’t for Neah. Kioshi had looked at the bijuu but he didn’t notice what Neah did. Neah shouted that it was one creature with two heads. Kioshi immediately realized that they were not prepared for this. He immediately assumed that the right course of action would be to fall back. Instead, Neah despite knowing what it was, charged straight forward. Kioshi dashed a good 20 meters back and then the explosion happened.

He could maintain the bird cage barrier ninjutsu for a long distance. Therefore, quite a bit of the blast would be defended by the barrier. But, the explosion was far more powerful. Hence, it would completely destroy the barrier and some damage would reach Neah unless Neah reacted in time.

”We weren’t prepared. If it’s one bijuu, the entire plan is pointless. What do we do now?”

As if on cue, once the support team started their attack to “distract” the bijuu, the attack team started their assault. And the bijuu roared in pain.

”We’ve all made a mistake”

But this was no time to stand and worry. They still had to act. Would the other two be open to falling back and regrouping with the main team? Probably not. Kioshi knew, they didn’t listen to what he said. So it was impossible for him to convince them of anything.

First thing first, he needed to make sure Neah was okay. Then, he had to observe and support. What could they do now that the situation had changed? They had to adapt. They had to rethink the strategy. Could they even seal this thing?

Was defeating it, even a possibility?

Once the explosion would clear, and if the bijuu didn’t make a move on the support team, Kioshi would dash forward and look for Neah and his summoned snake.

”He can’t be down. Not yet, not so early. We need all the fire power we can get”

Gluttony Rising[Event Mission] Empty Re: Gluttony Rising[Event Mission]

Post by Rei Tue Aug 13, 2019 9:15 pm

The signal had been given and the battle had commenced. The younger team started off strong, creating a powerful blast. The sudden attack on both faces of the serpents was strong and well-coordinated. Though almost ineffective against their tough hides, the attacks had focused on their eyes instead of their tough skin. This proved more effective than intended, giving the two teams ample time to enact the first stage of their plan.

That was as far as their success went however. For some reason, the Medic-nin Jounin Vex, was nowhere to be seen. They would be too far away from the younger team for them to realize this. Vex, Itami & Makuro were a close team. Itami & Makuro in the heat of battle, figured Vex had decided to rush to the other team and see if they needed first aid. Out of all of them, it was most likely that the younger team would suffer the most. It was a good call even though it undermined Makuro's decision of splitting their teams.

The white serpent would recover first. After the explosion, it found itself in front of three young shinobi. It flickered its tongue once and set its gaze on the character Kuro. With one swift motion of its serpentine body, it lunged forward with an open mouth to swallow the immortal boy up in one gulp. It would then notice the second shinobi- a serpent wielding summoner. Neah and his summon would have closed the distance by now and sank some fangs into the giant white serpent half. Nothing, it felt nothing. Little would anyone realize, this monster was also immune to poisons. A swift rolling motion would overtake Neah and his summon. Invoking Neah's substitution technique and activating his snake Kurokiba's additional summoning effect.

Meanwhile the shinobi Kioshi would have stood back like a smart shinobi and ascertained what was happening before reacting. By this point, it was evident that the white and black serpents were one and the same. They shared a body! Kioshi's barrier was strong, enough to momentarily reduce the impact of the crushing roll.

"This changes things... We will have to enact a forced sealing as soon as possible before this two-headed monster gains the advantage." Makuro would say, realizing that Kuro had been eaten, Neah was potentially crushed, Jin was uncertain of what to do.. and Vex was for all he could guess, trying to circle around the blind side of the Bijuu to save Neah? Itami understood what he meant and quickly changed tactics. With the black snake still reeling from the combined wind/fire technique, Itami rushed the short distance and began to run up the creature's thick hide. He needed to get much closer before he could use his most powerful technique. Meanwhile, Makuro pulled the large scroll from off his back and placed it on the ground. The sealing method had already been written out beforehand, so all Makuro had to do was perform the handseals.

Gluttony Rising[Event Mission] Empty Re: Gluttony Rising[Event Mission]

Post by Kuro Wed Aug 14, 2019 4:19 pm

Kuro couldn't hope to avoid the attack that was moving at him now. He had no preparations available and no idea how to avoid this thing coming to bite down on him, so, he would give it something to remember him by. Releasing a long stream of his black powder as the beast moved towards him at high speed, he would snap his fingers just as the beast chomped down, the explosion moving up and around, into the air and hitting the beast right over its right eye. He released more of his powder once he hit the stomach, snapping one final time before the poison gasses and liquids in the stomach caused him to succumb to unconsciousness. The snap caused an explosion of similar proportions to the first explosion, only much larger. His body was mangled in the 'splosion, but after a few seconds, it was placed back together and he sat back up as he felt death returning to him, pulling him into its sweet embrace.

He now had no more explosives as they had been eaten off of his body, he was naked... and angry. He decided that he would give this heckin snake something to remember him by, taking a bite out of its stomach wall, He would swallow the disgusting meat, also swallowing the bile that attempted to rise in his throat. He then died. Again and again this process repeated, he would come back, take a few bites, die again. It would turn out, that its flesh was just as poisonous as the rest of the contents of its tummy, but he didn't care, he would give it a tummy ache like it had never seen before!

Gluttony Rising[Event Mission] Empty Re: Gluttony Rising[Event Mission]

Post by neah Thu Aug 15, 2019 3:28 am

If he hadn't used his substitution just now he would have been in a lot of trouble. Neah panted as his summon looked at him and let out a sigh of relief his voice muffled out two words your, safe.." and closed his eye and suddenly poofed in a large cloud of smoke. The snake had also somewhat shielded him from the blast. Tears ran down his eyes, not of sorrow but gratitude. it seemed Kuro was practically immortal as he had claimed. That explosion he saw took place one from the outside the second from the inside. He sighed as he panted blood was dripping down his right arm and it was giving him a lot of burning sensation along most of his arm. He winced as he glared at the snake anger now began to cloud his mind. His mind went through a multitude of emotions as it processed the events. Until finally it had chosen the primary emotion to settle on anger.

While he was within the cloud of smoke from his summonings disappearance he weaved the following handseals Tiger → Snake  → Ram → Rabbit →Ox → Snake. With those sequence of hand seals the area around the tailed beast would quake. the ice would crack as the surface rising up and forming around the beasts head as it would have been knocked down by the first if not prior to the second explosion. The trees would form and wrap around the head of the beast if not it would attempt to wrap around the neck area if the beasts head was not down. However, should the head have been knocked down the Jutsu would attempt to bind its mouth shut with the branches and root systems of the trees that formed. He panted and formed another set of seals for the body replacement technique and would have his illusioned self would charge towards the venomous snake while the real neah would begin to flee off towards where the other team was heading. Blood continued to drip down his arm as he panted as he would move at his fullest capable speed. Limping slightly as the back of his leg had been hit with the explosion he felt burning pain there as well. He needed to get away he needed to report his findings to the other team and warn them about Kuro's current predicament.

Gluttony Rising[Event Mission] Empty Re: Gluttony Rising[Event Mission]

Post by Rei Fri Aug 16, 2019 3:43 pm

The younger shinobi team had not worked well together at all, though this information was lost on Makuro and Itami whom were currently fighting the black half of the serpent desperately. All the while this had been happening, Vex had thought better to go aid the younger and inexperienced team first. She had disappeared around the backside of the serpent, in everyone's blindspot, trying to skirt around the dangerous monstrosity. In doing so, the female medical ninja had found herself face to face with another predator. A fox. A smiling fox, dressed in white. Not a read fox, but a man well-known for his fox-like smile and cunning. Being in such a hurry and focused on the mission, the medic shinobi was fully surprised to see anyone other than samurai in this land. "What are you-" Was all the words she managed to breathe through heavy panting from her running.

Rei Kaguya stood before her, with his arms folded neatly beneath his long white sleeves. Even as the female shinobi began to speak, he had already began some handseals. His whole body hidden beneath his white haori, Vex wouldn't even begin to understand what was happening until it was too late. A sudden appearance of a bone sprouted through Rei Kaguya's white clothing and quickly closed the distance between him and the medic. It was too late, he felt the solid connection as his bone spear passed right through the female's chest. Her heart. She looked down and wrapped a weak hand around the bone protrusion from her chest, futilely attempted to pull it free. She knew this was fatal, but she refused to admit it. Her team needed her healing ability, they were relying on her! Those were her last thoughts as her grip on the bone spear weakened and she fell limp, being fully supported by Rei's spear.

He would retract the spear, pulling the female corpse closer. "Don't worry. Your team's efforts won't be in vain.." he would say to the corpse, with his fox-like smile as he got a good look at her. He then performed the transformation jutsu, transforming into a perfect likeness of the female Vex. He allowed her body to be tossed to the wayside, which would soon be buried beneath the snow. He then turned his tracks back the way Vex had come from, towards Makuro and Itami.

As Neah would attempt to subdue the white half of the Bijuu with trees, his real body would be making its way towards where Makuro and Itami were currently fighting the black half of the Bijuu. His wood release technique hadn't quite been strong enough to hold the beast. With a sudden and violent yank, it freed itself from the feeble prison and looked about. It saw a Neah, and it also saw a Kioshi. These little humans who got close to it, always made it annoyed and caused it pain. Even now, it could feel the first of the three, Kuro inside of it. Writhing in agony due to poison, but also still moving and causing the Bijuu a dull ache in its stomach. How was he still alive?

The white half opened its large mouth, the glands in its throat twitched as the only signal it would give before suddenly spraying an enormous amount of purple liquid all over Neah's clone and Kioshi who had remained at a ditance for safety. Both of them would be covered in the poison as it fell. A slow-acting and agonizing lethal agents that would kill them slowly. Though only Kioshi was the real target that remained at that location. The beast's poison would pass harmlessly through the Neah clone and that was when the white serpent realized it had been fooled.

Being currently nowhere, Neah had gone to attempt to regroup with the other half of his team. This left the white half of the beast free to turn about freely and face the second team as well. As it turned, it would see Neah running. It would also see Itami atop the black serpent's head. Unforgivable. With Itami's back turned and not realizing the white serpent's head was now behind him, he prepared his strongest technique. Before the man could perform his jutsu however, he was caught from behind. The white head would bite at him suddenly with its crushing mouth and pull him off of the black serpent's head. Even though Itami was a skilled and seasoned shinobi, the sudden surprise and pain caused him to scream out in agony.

The white serpent had learned its lesson after trying to eat Kuro. No, this second morsel wasn't worth eating. Instead, its eye caught movement to the side, the real Neah dashing towards where Makuro was preparing his sealing scroll. With a sudden powerful jerking motion of its head, the white serpent would fling the broken body of Itami right at Neah, attempting to crush the boy with his ally's broken body. He would narrowly miss though, maybe Neah had anticipated this and pulled back slightly. But Itami's body would crash violently into the ground right in front of Neah, halting his advance. Itami was still alive, but barely. Would Neah disregard his ally or would he go to aid Makuro?

Vex had arrived back at Makuro's location and gently patted the Sannin on the shoulder. "The other squad is annihilated." she would say, just as Itami had been grabbed by the return of the second Bijuu serpent head. Fortunately for them, Makuro was finally ready to begin the sealing method. Rei Kaguya, disguised as Vex- watched passively but fully aware of his surroundings as Makuro began to perform the seals necessary for the sealing. Both Bijuu heads stared at the two of them, as if they couldn't decide how they wanted to eat the two shinobi standing close together. It was then that the sealing method took place. A powerful wind picked up in the area and this wind focused itself around the entire length of the Bijuu. Surprised and angry, the beast howled in rage as its body moved on its own.

Makuro began to sweat intensely as he focused his chakra into the channeling process. Every ounce of his chakra and concentration was poured into the sealing jutsu. Inch by inch, the bijuu's body came closer, yet also smaller and smaller. This process would repeat many times, both heads of the serpent thrashing about, spitting poison wildly in many directions. Finally, the Bijuu stopped moving out of exhaustion and with no more willpower, this sealing method quickly swallowed up the Bijuu. Once inside the scroll, a new seal formed over the paper as Vex began to roll the scroll up and held it for Makuro. The Sannin was tired, quite tired. He was glad that their mission had been a success, but at what cost? It was then that Neah and possibly Itami would arrive nearby. Itami wouldn't be able to walk on his own, so Neah would have to carry him if the boy had chosen compassion.

From the sky, a white bird would approach. "Well done everyone." Vex would suddenly say, in a tone not her typical cheerful self and a twisted smile on her lips. As the white bird close closer to descent, "Vex" would leap into the air and land atop the white bird, holding the large scroll under her arm. Makuro was too exhausted to try to intervene, he lay weakly on top of the snow and just stared defiantly at the intruder. This wasn't the Vex he knew. Which meant only one thing. "You bastard... Who are you!?" Makuro would shout, suddenly being overcome with both rage and grief. Vex had been his lover, she was the last person he had expected to betray them.

Itami was too wounded to do anything, which left only Neah to react- however by this point, the pretend Vex was far into the air and flying away. As a last precaution, in case the ground shinobi tried to do anything, Rei Kaguya while still in the disguise as Vex, would enact his last move in this plan of his. A single handseal. From beneath the snowy ground, a white misshapen hand would reach, wrapping its grip around Makuro's leg. The white body pulled itself out of the thick snow and climb ontop of Makuro's weak form. A twisted smile on what would appear to be a clay body. Rei performed the handseal and the area would wuddenly explode violently. The explosion would be so large that by the time Neah was prepared to do anything, the shockwave of the explosion would send rocks and tremors at him and possibly Itami. Just like that, the pretend Vex, Rei Kaguya was gone, with the sealed Bijuu inside the large scroll. A fox-like smile on his face as he flew away. Those shinobi should be dead by now, my explosive technique should have been enough. If not, they'll likely die before their allied samurai army arrives. he told himself, calculating the odds that they survived.
